I remember when we lived in conowingo ,Maryland .I was almost 16. My name is tom. I'm one of seven children . I am nex't to the oldest. We rented an old farm house with a dairy in the back. We lived in a huge house on the top of a hill. Shortly after we moved in .We went around the house searching for whatever we could find. the place was new to us. So we were just having fun Like most boys do. We found a old harley motorcycle frame .It had tires and wheels .But no motor. My twin brother steve and my younger brother larry would push each other around the drive way on it. We soon met some neighbor kids. We went to school with them. They lived about a mile down the road from us. Yes it was all down hill. So we got the idea to ride the motorcycle from our house to their house.Once you got closer to their house The road got steeper and there was a curve just passed their house. We would go so fast , picking up speed the futher we rode. But always pulling into the drive way at the neighbors house. There was no way we could make that turn below their house. My dad would stop and pick the motorcycle frame up when ever he came that way. Then we would ride it down the hill again. One day my younger brother larry got on it with two of our neighbor friends. Billy sat on the handle bars. Larry sat on the seat. Johnny sat on the back fender. Off they went .Zooming down the road. The motorcycle was really picking up speed with three people on it. It did have brakes. enough to slow down anyway. By the time they reached the neighbors house they were flying. I think larry was going to try going around the curve. But at the last minute he steered into the driveway. Well there was gravel in the driveway. So when larry hit the brakes all three of them hit the gravel. Billy hit head first . When I got there his mother was picking gravel out of his face. She wasn't smiling either. larry and johnny weren't hurt bad .It just shook them up a bit. After that we didn't ride much. As a matter of fact it was left at the neighbors house. I guess Dad thought that was best. Well It sure was a lot of fun for a while. I don't see how we ever kept from getting killed as kids. Because we did a lot more stupid stuff.lol.
