Wear Your Life Well written by Marilu Henner
When I first read the description for this book, I thought I'd best give it a shot. It sounded inspiring, fulfilling, and quite interesting at a time when I found little to interest me and I was well in need of inspiration and fulfillment.
Marilu Henner is of Taxi, Celebrity Apprentice and Broadway fame, but before this book, her name or appearance anywhere had never crossed my path. From reading this book, I take that views expressed on her website, Marilu.com, are what gave fruition to this book, as she mentions her website frequently.
Supposedly this book is supposed to help you discover the best in yourselves. This book is supposed to offer "smart, sensible, healthy alternatives" to the ways we are currently comprimising our lives.
I'm not sure what I expected to pull from this book, but I was rudely disappointed. I didn't find it motivating, inspiring, or feel the least bit fulfilled after reading this book. I think I could find more useful self-help information on the Internet.
Sure, I'm not that into self-help books, but since previously reviewing, Rules for Renegades by Christine Comaford Lynch, and The Ultimate Tea Diet by Mark Ukra, and falling in love with them, I was actually beginning to be interested in changing my life around, so I could wear it well. I thought this book would only add to the icing on the cake.
This book didn't have anything special to offer. It was just Plain Jane. Most information could be pulled from common sense, any another self-help book, the internet, or possibly even your next door neighbor! The best thing this book had going for it were recipes in the back, and even those I felt were lacking, but maybe because she advises not eating meat or dairy products, amongst other things.

Her suggests might seem to severe for some people, but try. You will end up much healthier.
I never watched "Taxi" and have not read any of her earlier books, but she is on my list of writers to investigate. I like her as much as Victoria Moran, who writes similar advice.
I enjoyed the book and will be reviewing it soon too.
I'm sorry you were disappointed in my book. I'm quite surprised actually. The book is based on several of the classes I've been teaching online at Marilu.com for over nine years, and I know this information has helped countless people, myself included.
Each of us is at a different place in our health journey. It's always, as I say in the book, "Progress, not Perfection!" Perhaps you and I are just not in sync. That's okay, of course. But I do encourage you to give the book another read before giving up "turning your life around" as you mention in the review. I know that turning my life around and changing my "normal" (a big theme in the book) is what helped me lose 55 pounds, find health and gusto, and most importantly, become a mother at 42 and 43!
Good luck on your journey!
