As a kid, the author that really inspired me to become an author was L.M. Montgomery. Most of you will know her as the author of Anne of Green Gables. But she wrote loooots more books, series, and an unbelievable amount of short stories. When I was in Jr. High (late 80's), there was a renaissance of her work going on. Her short stories were being published in book form by theme. Every time I went to the bookstore, I would run over to the teen section and see if there was a new book there. A lot of her heroines loved to write especially her Anne character and Emily from New Moon. But I think it was the fanciful way she wrote that inspired me. I wanted to write like that. I recently found a couple more of the STARTED stories that I wrote as a teen and they were filled with the presence of L.M. Montgomery. I still like to think there is a little bit of her in my writing along with all the other authors that have influenced me throughout my life.
As a writer, you has influenced you the most?
