My Home for the Holidays Survey" Questions (Please follow instructions above to submit your answers):

1. Who do you want to go home to visit? or Who do you want to come home to visit you? Why? My sister and her family moved to California in July for her job. Money is tight for them, so  I would fly them home to be with us (three other sisters and family).  I know this will be a hard xmas for them, as they are so far from home. (we lost our parents 21 years ago.  My sister was 20. We have taken care of her since that day.  She was only a young girl.  We are her family).
2. What is your relationship with this person? She is our youngest sister. How long have you known them? She is 40 years old and is still the baby of the family. After my parents died, we each took on roles in the family.  Our role is to take care of her and make sure she knows that she is forever loved.
3. When was the last time you spent the holidays with this person? We spent 4th of July up in Maine and then her family boarded a plane and left Massachusetts for good. Because money is tight for her family and she just started her new job, she has acknowledge the fact that coming back east would not be doable for her family.  I would love to surprise them.
4. What is your most meaningful holiday memory with this person? The four sisters take a holiday photo every year.  After my parents passed, my sisters grew closer with unconditional love, nuturing and caring ways. For my youngest sister, xmas is a time that she reflects on how lucky she is to have all of us in her life.  The photo that we take of the "girls" shows how the legacy that my parents gave to us: the strong bond between 4 sisters.
5. How do you find meaning in the holidays? Being with family, being grateful for the little things and telling each other how much I love them is the gift of the holidays!  Thank you Gather for all that you do.
