We danced our way around one another,
speaking in fragile wisps of springtime.
We balanced on moonbeams
and hid in shadow when the sun was high.
For so long it was the two of us.
Now, time has woven its way;
We are lost in a maze…
and as much as we cry out for one another,
I cannot find you.
You cannot find me.
I close my eyes,
trying hard to remember the timbre of your voice,
the sound of your laughter.
It escapes me!
Still, when the moon is high,
I close my eyes and dance,
imagining you are near.
