My dear friend, poet, and ranter, along with being a humorist, has
suffered a stroke. It is William Dotani I am speaking about. I know
he wouldn't want a big fuss made over him, not his style, but have
the need to say something to those that care about him as I do, to
send up your prayers that he will make a swift and speedy recovery.
I miss checking his site everyday to see what he has come up with
that gives me chills, or a laugh, or sometimes peace. We need you
Bill, God Bless you, Get Better.

(I'd just been going to post some pictures but you're the 2nd person I've seen who said they were having trouble. Guess I'll wait.)
He is a new connection for me and I was already enjoying his articles.
I do hope he will be much better soon.
but, not... i miss you... please Get Well Soon.... Blessings and hugs... love ya...

Flying by to say Happy Thursday.
Last day for Triple Points!
I appreciate your writings and your thoughts.
I wandered in on the heels of my friend, Ann M.
Your post about Bill has struck a strong personal chord. On one level I sincerely join with everyone in wishing the best for your friend. On the other, as a relative stranger I can sense your own pain.
Mouthing the word, "stroke," can only have passing meaning to anyone who's never had one.
I had a stroke nearly ten years ago. In fact, my experience of "stroke" (like Bill's) incurred damage on the left side of my brain affecting the right side of my body – including my formerly splendid handwriting and my reasonably good speaking skills.
It occurs to me that some of your readers today might benefit from what I'm about to recommend. Please read on.
If you or anyone else wants to know "What It Feels Like To Have A Stroke," I heartily recommend the splendid thirty-minute presentation by Jill Bolte Taylor. You see, Jill had a stroke too – just like William's and mine. If you look and listen to Jill's quick and entertaining speech you may very well end up like the audience and I did – in tears and clapping wildly.

Here's to you, William. You can make it, sir. Will be tough, but can be done.
Hope you are having a good day, Elsie. I had sunshine when I got up but it's all gone now!

I am afraid to give this address to Curt because he would be in my neighborhood looking for Pottery and put dandelions because Elsie told him to. I think Wilma should come out and take care of me and if she does so, I will buy her a pigtail at the hospital gift shop which is a very popular item for sale. I thank everybody for their concern and cares.
Please remember my roommate Tom in your prayers, he had successful surgery but still has a lot of rehabilitation work to do. Besides that I can't think of a thing in the world to say.

Just stopped to say Hi and tell William we continue to pray for him.
I sent him a card .
Thanks for all you do.
Take care, Bill
P.S. Because it is difficult to have my daughter write for me I will only send one or maybe two updates per week unless something changes drastically there is not much to say. I guess it is slow and steady until I get better.
love
So Bill just know we care.
Guess you will just have to stick to hospital food. It is good for losing weight.
Thank you for sharing. I love your writings. I am leaving tuesday on book tour in Louisiana and have two television spots. I am thrilled! I have not been on the board lately, so just dropping to say hello. Take care.

I pray for William's recovery from the stroke. God will keep you in His care William.
