Trespassers William "Different Stars" Although they have a more recent release in 2008, I'm flipping the stacks back to 2004 for this album. Pretty and haunting without being too too much, if you don't listen for hours on end.Evokes: Wistfulness, that strange sensation of listening to something truly pretty.

Just a big mess of John Denver.I'm not ashamed to like Denver's music. Over a month ago I caught "A Song's Best Friend" on Twin Cities Public Television. Been humming "Country Roads" ever since then.
Evokes: Almost heaven, West Virginia, you know the rest.

And finally, the past couple of days I've been hitting the single "Another Way to Die." The theme song to the new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace" is just smoking. I can not stop listening to it. Can. Not. You listen and you tell me. (link goes to YouTube)Evokes: Knuckle-biting.
What are you listening to and what does that music evoke?

Fuller was a protege of Rev Gary Davis. He was a pretty popular blues singer in the 30s. He played a resonator guitar and sang in a rough baritone. His music ranged from raucous ragtime double entendre stuff like "What's That Smell Like Fish" to hymns to deep blues. He made over a hundred records. Most of them were good. A lot of his recordings featured the harmonica of Sonny Terry.

Besides my never-ending-affair with Cajun music, I've also put on Brenda Weiler. She's worth every moment it takes to load her webpage and sit and listen for an hour.
Isn't Brenda Weiler a local musician? I like her work, Susan.
It'd been better if she's stepped over to the Cedar Cultural Center to dazzle us.
