"Nine Lives" is Winwood's first full-length studio album since the artist released "About Time" on his own independent label, Wincraft, in 2003 and opens an important new chapter in Steve's extraordinary career. The musician also recently announced that he will head out on a national tour with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers this summer for shows across the U.S.

1. I've been a fan since his Spencer Davis group days. "Gimme Some Lovin" was one of the first singles I ever purchased.
2. I liked his work with Blind Faith.
3. Traffic is on of the most underrated groups of all time.
4. His solo works in the 80's, especially "Arc of a Diver" is great work.
5. I ran into him at Conor O'Neil's pub in Boulder a few years back. He was juggling a beer in each hand and the attention of numerous admirers, but was still gracious and funny.
I'm a big fan.
I OWN ALL OF HIS MUSIC INCLUDING THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP STUFF TO BLIND FAITH'S TO HIS TRAFFIC DAYS AND THEN ULTIMATELY HIS SOLO WORK.
I THINK HIS MUSIC IS AWESOME AND LISTEN TO HIS WORK AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO A REVIEW OF HIS NEW CD AS I ONCE USED TO REVIEW FOR BILLBOARD MAGAZINE BACK IN THE DAYS OF INXS AND PRINCE, ETC., THE WILD AND CRAZY 80'S.
His start with the Spencer Davis Group at the age of 16 but sounding like a seasoned veteran with the soul and sound of Ray Charles was a musical revelation at the time.
He continued his incredible innovative sound with the groundbreaking group Traffic that sounded quite unlike anyone that had come before. Their fusion of rock, folk, blues and jazz was at times both hypnotic and infectious.
His short time with the first supergroup, Blind Faith cemented his place in the pantheon of great singer/songwriters.
Winwood showed that he could keep abreast of the times and shifts in musical direction during his solo career with contemporary hits like Back In The Highlife.
His more recent work has taken him back to his roots with a more earthy and engaging sound.
Steve Winwood continues to be a vital, worthwhile and vibrant fixture on the music scene. He seems to be going through a creative rejuvination and I can't wait to see him in July with Tom Petty in Raleigh, NC.
I enjoy the versatility of the instruments he uses in his records, and his bluesy style.
Really really enjoyable.
ïs he still the same boy he use to be?We hope so.
And if you remind the music of those years I want to have a memory for Collin Jackson, from Men At Work and that unbelievable song ¨... Can I hold you in my arms tonight....
Steve Winwood is one of the penultimate musicians/singers that bridges the late 20th to early 21st century.
He's someone that I have followed all my life-- his music creates a pulse in my veins and yet it has the ability to stir my heart. His keyboarding skills are amazing.. yet he's a gentle soul
I remember reading that he liked bird-watching..... and that he lives in Tennessee which is great territory for that.
I would *love* to review this one!!
