Ever since I worked at Grey’s Drugstore in Dinkytown, the same building Dylan lived upstairs in a decade earlier, I have been inspired by his music and awed at his prolificacy.
Now a new exhibit at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota explores Dylan’s Minnesota connections as well as his significance to American and world music and cultures.
From MPR’s Web site, including audio: He's an artist he don't look back (full article)
"The exhibition is called "Bob Dylan's American Journey: 1956-1966." The sections that delve into Dylan's Minnesota years might have been named "Bringing it all Back Home," after his 1965 record album. Curator Colleen Sheehy predicts that even somewhat knowledgeable Dylan fans might be surprised by how his time here molded him as an artist."
Sounds like a road trip to me. The Exhibit starts on Saturday, February 3rd and runs through April 29, 2007.
