As heard on Minnesota Public Radio's Morning Edition Will they, will they, rock you?:
With a classic arena song now banned, sports teams look for the next generation of jock jams. MPR's Cathy Wurzer and Morning Edition sports commentator Steve Rudolph survey the celebration songs coming to a ball field near you.
Since Gary's conviction, the NFL and other sports organizations have cut his music from play at games. Wonder if those Jock Rock albums are considered collectibles now?
Listening to the story audio is a MUST, because it has snippets of Gary Glitter's Rock'n'roll Part 2, Blur's Song 2, Joe Satriani's Crowd Chant, and Cathy Wurzer / Steve Rudolph discussing how difficult it is to find "celebration songs" for goal/touchdown music.
What songs would you suggest for sports teams? Anything special for the Twins? The Wild? The Vikes? The Wolves, the Swarm, the Saints, the Lynx, the Thunder and the Lightning?

heee - Auntie, wasn't it you that suggested The Go Team in a discussion on the old board?
You don't mess with the classics Man.
And to reiterate a post Jill Riley made on this same topic way back when. "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" by LCD Soundsystem would be a fun anthem.
I always liked the opening of 'Connection" by Elastica as a good crunchy anthemy sort of song.
These don't have any spots for fans to yell or shout and have nothing to do with sports but have some great guitar licks, but I like for their energy. The opening riffs from The Call's "Let the day begin", The Replacements "Seen your video" and Left of the dial" and Can't Hardly Wait.
A topic for another thread........... What is your opinion of the music played at the local sports teams games? I prefer the Wild.
