What is the longest friendship you have in real life and how‘d you meet?

I have several acquaintances I’ve known since elementary school but I don’t consider any of them actual friends. My longest standing friendship is with a man named Hai, we’ve been friends since I was 15, so wow, it’s been 15 years.

I was at a Vietnamese festival with my family and Hai got one of his friends to try and get my phone number but I took down theirs instead and gave it to one of my girlfriends. Kids can be silly.

i met my friend in first grade - we're still bestest buds. he lives in n. carolina, but we still talk regularly and try to get together at least once a year.

Honesty here?
My children are my longest relationship - other then my siblings and mother of course. I do not feel comfortable allowing people to get to close to me.
If they get close to me, then I may get close to them therefor setting myself up for disappointment.
I will not let that happen.
Might be looked at as negative to some, I see it as survival.

I am still friends with my ex-sister-in-laws and we have known each other since I was 4. I think so that is over 53 years.

I have "friends" that I've known since kindergarten but not any that I see on a regular basis. I have known my best friend for about 9 years, and we met through my ex husband and her ex husband. LOL!

I have no face to face friendships due to being screwed over time and again. My only friends are related to me. My mom Candice E. who has been there for me and visa versa my whole life. Then there is my super incredible hubby who I have know for 3 years on February 21, 2010. We have been a couple 2.5 years, and married 1 year as of this December 21st.
Would I like a face to face friend I could actually trust and talk too?? Yes, but I am not sure how likely that will ever be.

Mimi. We met in junior high school (about 1962) We were roommates during the Viet Nam years (our boyfriends were high school friends, then Navy buddies.We have not seen one another in more than 30 years, but we stay in touch via e-mail and periodically a marathon phone visit. I love her to pieces.

My longest friendship would be with my best friend Missy who I have known since we were 11....(we are both 37 now) so 26 yrs. The next one would be my friend Tonya who I have known since we were 15 so thats 22 yrs and then my husband who I have known for 19 yrs but we've only been married -this month will be 7 months. :)

I would have to say my friend Sherri that I have been friends with for 22 years. We had an apartment together for a little while. Then she had a baby. I've never missed one party that she had for Alisha who is now in college. I've also known Alisha's dad for about 22 years. I see him from time to time, but I wouldn't consider him a close personal friend, just someone that I have known for a while. There was a group of us that hung out together when we were in our 20's, and we still see each other.

Well, the people I knew in school and childhood are acquaintances but not truly close friends. I see them, I wave at them, I sometimes talk to them, but I never call them up when I am feeling blue or need a shoulder to cry on. I have one good friend that became my friend in about the eighth grade and she has given me a beautiful Goddaughter that means the world to me. That friendship has lasted about 38 years I guess. The friendship that means the most to me and never fails to be my rock, is the one I have with my twenty-nine year-old daughter. I can trust her with my feelings and thoughts and know they are always safe. I can speak my mind with her and know that she understands whether she agrees with it or not.

I am 38 now and I have been best friends with this one girls since we were 5 years old. We don't live close to each other anymore she lives in Oaklahoma and I live in Ohio. But we still talk on the phone. I visit her when I can and its been a long time since I have gotten to see her.

I still talk to my best friend from kindergarten sometimes, although not nearly as often now that we never actually get to see each other. Her mom is one of my facebook buddies, and you would not believe how happy that made me. lol Misty and I did everything together when we were little, she even went to my family reunions and stuff. Anyway, since I was at her house so much, I was pretty close to both of her parents. If I am able to get together with Misty when I'm home, I try to see her mom as well. ;)

Misty and I met in kindergarten, when I was 6. I'm 27 now.

I met my best friend 50 years ago when we were both 9 years old. We graduated from high school together, graduated from the same college and my husband and her husband were best friends from age 4. We still see each other all the time and it's wonderful. I also have another friend that I met when our daughter's were in kindergarten together. We talk to each other often and see each other at least once a week. We have been friends for 31 years.

What a timely topic! Just this morning I had breakfast with by BFF of 30+ years. We met as a result of having kids the same age. We still live close but, like so many, have trouble making time to get together. The way we carried on, the poor waitress at IHOP thought we were long lost sisters

33 years. My friend Robin and I met in 7th grade. We started out as enemies but became friends. Actually there was a group of us that are still all friendly who met at the same time but she is the one I was closest too.

I had a friend for 17 yrs when she decided that she didn't want me to marry (jealousy) and said if I did we wouldn't be friends any longer, I said if she felt that way she was never my true friend to begin with

My oldest friends name is Starr.
I have known him since I was 4 and he was 3.
He lived across the street from me with his grandparents and mother.
We still keep in touch daily through emails and get together in person whenever possible.
He is living in Virginia right now but is due to return soon.

I met my BFF Jeanna back when I was 11 she was 10. I was with another friend of mine and we knocked on her door to invite her to church the little brat slammed the door in my face so the next Sunday I tried to ask her again,she slammed the door again,the next week I asked her and she said yes and we have been buddys since,we lost touch after high school for a bit she has a daughter whose middle name is Autumn same name as my middle child we talk almost every day now I love that girl

My best friend and I were best friend from the age of five to 21. We were kind of already going our separate ways in college when I forgot to log out of a public computer and she had a two hour chat with a total stranger who thought it would be funny to mess with her. I was in class taking an exam, but everyone I knew (except my best friend) sent me a message letting me know someone was accessing my IM and to log off ASAP. When all was said and done, she still believed that the other person was me. How was it that ppl I had just met knew it wasn't me, but my best friend of 15 yrs couldn't figure it out.
