I took my son to the mall today to get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny. He waved at the Easter bunny, and was so excited to take his picture....until he got up close to him. For the FIRST TIME EVER, my son was actually AFRAID of the Easter Bunny. He's 3 yrs old, and has NEVER cried or been scared of Santa or the Easter Bunny, until now.
I tried to get him to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap, and he kept saying "No mamma. I don't want to." I tried to bribe him with candy...."No mamma...I don't want candy." So I knew the only way I was going to get this year's picture with the Easter Bunny was for me to sit there too. I wasn't prepared to take a photo with the Easter Bunny. I hadn't done my hair....I just brushed it real quick and left the house. I was just wearing sweats and a t-shirt, not like my son who was dressed in a cute little shirt and shorts.
So, I sat next to the Easter Bunny and put my son in my lap and held on tight as he tried to wiggle out of the photo. It's not the best picture ever, but it was important to me to get a photo with him and the Easter bunny, since we do it every year. I didn't want to look back at our photos and wonder why we didn't have his picture with the Easter Bunny in 2008. So, to me, a bad picture is better than no picture at all.

It is quite typical for kids that age, I have 31 nieces and nephews and i would say 80% had the same problems around that age. They will grow out of it. To them it is like us looking a tiger at a zoo. You wave at it and it is so pretty but do you really want to jump in the cage with it?
I remember my son reacted this way one Easter.
We laugh about it now.
Maybe next year?

I hope you have a Hoppy Easter!
I was scared of people in giant rabbit costumes. Also clowns. Even PICTURES of clowns. I'm past it now although my mother didn't let me kick the clown I thought was trying to kidnap me, lol.
