(((That depends if they have been sincere. I have lent money of which I didn't receive it back. If that person came to me and said they just couldn't pay it. I would lend them more. It just depends on the sincerity of that person.)))

Part of it depends on the events. But I can honestly say I have and I have had it turn out both ways. One person did not, and I don't expect ever will, even though she still finds excuses and things when I do bump into her. Both times I had told them when they could not pay me as promised to pay as they could as soon as possible. One heard I was having a problem, and found a way to pay me immediately. Either way, God knows the truth of their circumstances and sincerety, and ability to help me when I needed it, not me. It is not me they have to account to in the end. At the time, I had it to give. If I had it today, I would do the same. If I have something that somebody needs, that I do not, I would share it today, whether it be money, food, clothing, or whatnot. God's law is what matters to me, not what man says or thinks.

It depends on who it is asking for the loan...
As for the post-dated check... No! Those are not legal! I would realize they are not yet in a position to repay me in full and we would just be complicating things. Then discuss with them ways to make the repayment that are workable for both of us. Don't loan money you can't afford to give away!

It would depend on how much money I have in the first place and who was asking!

Only if I could afford to not see the money again and only if I trusted the person enough to know that it was being used for a real emergency. I'd be wary and concerned that the person was going to use it for drugs or something. I'd prefer to pay the $200 directly to the entity demanding money from the person - like the landlord, the bank, etc....

I have given money to someone who has not yet paid me back. They are still struggling to get on their feet financially and it is taking time. I have lent them money 3 times. They will eventually pay it back. Meanwhile they have children to care for and they just got jobs recently. It will take them time to get on their feet. I would not lend money to just anyone however. Some just scam and are leeches.

Ladyluna it is nice to see others think and feel as I do. The bible is full of examples of this nature and what to do and not to do. We are not to charge usery either. Which is interest.

You know, it would really depend on my intuition at the time. If I felt they really needed it, and I could spare it, I might just give it to them. If I felt like I was being used and they didn't really need it, or I couldn't spare it without shorting my family, I wouldn't. Sometimes I think "God" works through us to help someone out when they need it - we're just the vessel. And sometimes we have to be strong and not enable someone who is on their way down and taking everyone else around them, with them. It really depends.

If I have the money and it won't put me in a world of hurt, yes, no problem. Otherwise, I would not.

I have at least 6 checks from 20 years ago from people like that, I was at least nice enough to make sure when I took the checks to 'their' bank to make sure they had availalbe funds, so they wouldn't be charged insufficient funds fees,,,but I still have their checks, now.

This is a big amount, so I would truthfully have to say that,"I am sorry, but you would need to pay back the first amount, before I lend you any more."

I'm not sure what I would have done, but I was impressed when my son told me that he was glad he had taken out loans because it meant he could help people who were struggling; he even described a very similar situation where he did lend more. He has benefited so much from the friendship of the person he helped that the money is long since forgotten - no debts, just a friendship that means they are both there for each other. I would have said it was a large amount, but I'm so impressed that he didn't.

It would depend on the person's situation as well as mine too. IF they absolutely could not pay it back right away, maybe because they are sick, or have kids, Then I would understand. BUT, if they just kept on borrowing with out even trying to help themselves, then no I would not keep giving. People must try to help themselves first if they are able to. I have helped a lot of people, and 80 percent of the time they pay me back asap. If one person REALLY needed $$$ and could never pay it back, I would help them if I was able too.

It would depend on who it was and the circumstances it involved.
