Once again, please forgive me for not announcing these winners sooner. As many of you know, technical difficulties prevented me from running the proper report until now.

thanks for the list pam - but what is up with the pics for the 24th?? a flower, a tree, a bird, and a dog, and mine is the only one with the correct "family" tag - you guys had better take a look at your pics for the 24th - someone messed up!

im just curious as to why you listed the publisher's "namespace" but the commentor's "membername". at first glance it looked like the list of names was incorrect.

Lisa,

I believe that a mistake was made on some of the image links for that day. One entry belongs to a Vice-President at Gather (Tony Close), and some of the others are not published to the Family group, or have a tag of 'family'. Hence, technically, they would be ineligible. Hopefully this will be corrected shortly!

Kevin - it's not just links - as this continued in the announcement for the 25th. Also, there are errors on other days - it appears that "total" 10 votes were tabulated not the most 10's in that particular day. There are photo's missing that should have been awarded and photo's that are included that did not have very high vote counts. Who ever collected the data did not check their work as I see errors in every day winning photo grouping - the raw data needs to be checked again for meeting the guidelines of the contest and votes that were accumulated within the 24 hour period.

Thanks Lisa... I didn't look beyond the images for the 24th (at least for eligibility), but it is clear that some additional work will need to be performed, and potential retractions issued. Have you detailed all of the problems/inaccuracies and sent them to Pam?

Yes, Kevin - I sent a note to Pam and Maranne - since I know the data is generated by member services and then given to Pam. Hopefully they will retract all of this mess and try again tomorrow :)

just in case you missed my comment in today's TODAY article... I wanted to share it here too.

Thanks for your feedback and very valid concerns about the winning photos.
I will have Customer Support re-examine all the winners and publish an update when and if necessary. Now, just so everyone knows, I'm off today, so it might not happen until later in the afternoon... but I assure you... I am on it!

Congrats to all the winners!! No sour grapes here, but it seems to me the prizes could be limited to one or two per person so you would have more people winning. I'm sure there were hundreds of people entering..seems kind of redundant to have one win so many times. Nothing against anyone, I'm sure they were deserved! Just a suggestion for future contests! C):-)

Well Bridget ... they have changed almost every other part of this event, why not finish the middle of the stream changes and only allow one card for a photo and maybe another card for a comment per member ... which would have made more sense for both this event and the Picture More Points too.

But that is hindsight (and a lesson that should have been learned previously...) I think this wholesale changing of the criteria midway through is completely ridiculous and is another terrible precedence and disservice to the community at large.

Since I'm tired of being attacked, both via email and via this comment space, via comments both blatant and innocuous, I'd like to take a moment to point out that one other member has just as many wins as I do, and yet another has almost as many. So, I'd rather appreciate it if we could all keep that in mind. When something is advertised as 'Win $100 PER DAY', I take it to mean what it says.

(of course those who won with no intentions of being entered...i do not include you in my above statement)...because errors were made per some of the selections not being "Family" pics, i applaud Pam for acknowledging that fact with promise to give an update...

Sherry > you posted,you commented, you won multiple times....the possiblity of winning more than once per day was clearly stated in the specs of the contest...ignore those who can't accept that fact

I could not agree with you more gayle. It was clearly statred we could win more than once per day from the git go. But there are some that never should be here, the cattle egret, the dog, the daylily, and the tree that looks lovely not to mention the sunset and the deck fromt he other post of winners. I sure hope they do not penalize these winners now. To take back something that is publically stated that you won is awful. But additional winners should be chosen and if the contest continues to the 5th as stated it should be clearly stated that it should revert to the original rules intact, thus eliminating every tom, dick, and Harry photo. And I appreciate the congratulations as 2 photos and 2 of the comments are mine.

excuse me,Lisa,have you never had a family pet?...the rules happen to INCLUDE/ALLOW pics of family pets.....AND, Spartan's family pet "a DOG", Spinnaker,won fair and square with the proper TAG: Family photos......on July 24th...he was indeed one of the most 10s/five winners for that day.....

it would make more sense for future contests like this one to limit winners to ONE photo win + ONE best comment win per CONTEST, not per day....this will spread the prizes out to a larger membership base......

SHARING...do it...it's a good thang,people! (people as in those who award the GCs)
