A Reo Speedwagon Story

One lonely night, I decided To go for broke. I wanted her Back in my heart and my life. After tonight she would be back  Here with me. That's How the story goes. I had One too many girlfriends and she said she wanted One true man.  In my dreams she would Sing to me,  "Oh, baby meet me on the mountain." I was Tired of gettin nowhere without her. She's gonna' love me again, I thought in the Stillness of the night. If I Keep pushin she'll see my Love is a rock.

I headed out to 157 riverside avenue. Mary was a Sophisticated lady but also a Girl with the heart of gold. It was Time for me to fly back into her arms.

"Can't get you out of my heart, Mary!" I blurted out as she answered the door. "I don't want to lose you!  I still love you! Oh, woman I'm Runnin blind without you! Say you love me or say Goodnight!"

 "Lucky for you Dreamweaver, Every now and then I think of our Summer love and I did wonder if you did Start a new life without me. Only the strong survive, I learned. I figured you were Blazin' your own trail again Like you do. I wish you were there for me last night. In your letter you said "I  keep on lovin you, I Live every moment  lost in a dream missing you" but Tom, you know I won't  look the other way if you get Out of control . I said as I got on my knees and held out a ring."Here this is Just for you!"

"I can't fight this feeling  that you do love me. I'll follow you from this day forward,"she answered as her father walked up.

"Hey, wait a minute, That aint love Mary," her father said. " Don't mean to Break his spell, but although his Wheels are turnin'  honey, The key is you're both Half-way through second grade."

"As to Love in the future," he said to me, "Do your best son, to finish school before you go get hitched!"
