To begin, I would like to thank everyone who has commented back on my articles, whether they have been relating to film or my personal life. I really appreciate it.
When I started on Gather, I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it. One of the conditions I noted was that Gather was working on being a “positive” community. While I agree with the premise, I have been around long enough to know that there are times and stretches where life is anything but. I know and recognize that I whine about my life; it’s part of me being me. I really didn’t know if people would catch on to my personality.
And I’m not trying to detract from people who have it worse than me. I know and understand that there are several that do. Sometimes, I’m so self-centered in my own life that it’s hard to see anyone else’s. I try, though.
What I have found on Gather is a community of people who are decent in a way that they are actual PEOPLE, not trendy/hip shameless self-promoters. Yes, I’m sure that a lot of us are on here to promote ourselves, but we do it with talent and personality rather than cool graphics, images, and having a Top Friends list. Yes I am a MySpacer, but I have my reasons.
The road that I have been on has been very long and I’m not quite sure where it’s going. I appreciate all that have been with me on it so far and continue to comment back on my articles.
So thank you Gather for having a place where a real community of people exist and put out great work. I enjoy it all.
