Minor Complaint...

Does anyone else get frustrated with people that NEVER respond? I have several people that wanted to be connected, but I have never seen them sense. Granted, we all have lapses, but I would think over the course of a few months, I might see you once or twice. I am not perfect myself and I miss articles, but sometimes I feel like I am writing to the same 7 or 8 people every single time. Which by the way, you are ALL AWESOME and I love that I can count on you to let me know what you are thinking....O-kay, I am done venting, sometimes I just get a little exasperated with recipricol situations...

I try not to dwell. I know that most people come and go as they can, and there's not a lot we can do about it. :) I appreciate visits and comments when people are available.

In my defense I have been in very much pain and mostly posting and laying down as it hurts to sit. This week has been bad after four injections in my spine on Monday. I'll try to do better. :-D

In can be frustrating. I have so many connections, but the same very much appreciated few are the ones who always read and comment. But I do understand. It can be hard to keep up with every single connection, especially if you have as many as I do. I try and skip around alot so that I am not always commenting on the same ones all the time.

yes this happens to all of us. It does sometimes depend upon the time of day you are on and what you get notified for at the time.

I am not talking about any of you that I see from time to time...Lord knows we can't devote our entire life to Gather....LOL....but I mean come on....maybe once every couple of months...at least a quick hello !! Maybe I am feeling ignored in my real life and projecting it here...Just kidding...Thanks for the responses everyone !!

Truthfully, what upsets me the most is the people that I often leave comments for-that don't respond. I have a few that I always read...and they don't appear to read my things at all.

People have things to do sometimes; work, family, shopping, chores. I don't mind if someone doesn't comment on every article, though their thoughts are always welcome. Some simply come here to read and never rate or comment on articles or images. I figure, it's not hurting anything just by letting them stay connected. They'll get around to doing whatever it is they do sooner or later.

I think that happens alot here. It can be hard to keep up sometimes. I do try my best with all my connections to keep up but there are time when I just have nothing to say. I am still working on a system where I can find a way to get to everybody that I can but nothing is perfect. Real life does get in the way sometimes but an effort can be made to reach out every once in awhile. And don't worry... everyone needs to vent once in a while.

I try to comment on at least one thing by every connection (if they do multiples, and I'm overwhelmed, I sometimes skip some of them) every day. Sometimes, though, I do end up taken away from Gather to do my real life....
I hear ya, loud and clear. I feel the same way, but don't always have the time to comment, either. Sorry.

I try to pick out a few weekly that I've missed for a while. That makes me feel a little better about it. I've been connected to some people since last August that I leave comments to all the time and have NEVER heard from them. That's a little frustrating at times. I know it's hard to keep up with everyone and you get caught in a 'rut' so to speak with a few favorites, but I like to see what everyone is doing and let them know I've been there reading their stuff.

I know what you mean. I try to comment on at least one article a day of my connections. While Gather was down tonight, I checked my yahoo e-mail and good grief, I had 300 messages of people who had commented. Most of them were from people that I comment on frequently but there were several I didn't even recognize so need to get busy on some of their articles. Thank heavens I finally got caught up from my week's absence.

I don't let it bother me. I do know that sometimes I miss things my connections publish because we are online at different times. I tend to be online during the week from about 8-4 and only rarely in the evening or on the weekends so that's why I don't catch a lot of posts. What I try to do is to occassionally go through my articles and make sure that I've posted comments to folks who took the time to comment on mine. The rest of my connections I don't worry too much about. Some folks are more into reading and not so much into commenting. That's o.k. by me.

I'm a picture and photo essay person myself. Some articles pique my interest and I will comment and rate them but I stick to the photos first and then move onto the articles. I value all my connections and try very hard to get to get to everyone at least once a week and especially if they have commented on something I have posted. I'm so sorry if I have neglected your posts recently and will make a mental note to try to do better. I have a lot of connections who never comment on anything I do also. I guess it is just normal.

I agree with Toni. I have so many connections that do not comment on things I was publishing before. I went through and weeded out some. I made a list of 5 at a time. Went and made sure I commented on at least their last 5 publishings, waited a week, and if they had not commented on at least one thing I posted, or replied to my comments at least, I then disconnected. That is for the ones that I knew had been on. If someone had not commented or published in a while and they were just absent all around, I stayed connected.

I have to agree with Sue here. I do not even mind if they respond to me on their own thread, but I have had some that just do not bother with responding. I think the good conenctions I have made well outweight the ones that are "more here for themselves", so that makes it worth it for me to stick around.

I do my best, but some days it is hard. Today, for example, I can't keep up.

There are times that the best I can do is to read and rate, but not leave comments. Sometimes my mind just goes blank:)

It may be like me...I sometimes have a lot of time to spend on Gather and other times I may go a week or so before I really have the time to comment on anything. I am sure some people wonder why I do not contribute more often. But truthfully, I am here for my entertainment...to provide some insight and to have fun. The points involved are second to the knowledge that I sometimes have something important to share or to say.

Don' t take it personally. Remember, you life is about you and our lives are about us. Some of us are here more socially than others. I'm not one to be that social since I have two businesses. So when I can, I will. And so it goes. It's all good.

I am ususally behind as you may see from my comments this morning. I am always trying to catch up it seems. I have been fortunate here though lately. I don't often publish but I always try to rate and comment. Some I cannot comment on I will just rate but I do read everything I get a notification on. The few times I have published, people have been kind enough to reciprocate my commenting on my articles.

it seems like I get comments from the same 6-8 people. Not that I don't love their comments, but I have many friends that I comment to, that never return the favor. I'm not perfect either, but I am trying to do better.
