(Obama and McCain are good politicians, too, so no matter what happens we'll get better than Bush)
I agree. After Bush anything looks good!
An Obama administration that tries to get things done, that don't have the votes, will just seem like it is worse than Bush. Maybe it is.
McCain, on the other hand, has received only a few meager campaign contribution checks from his Republican colleagues. Tim Russert reported this the other night. I will find those numbers as well. Shows a lack of confidence if you ask me.
The gains will also be in closely divided States too. Moderate Democrats whose agenda can be seen by what Reid and Palosi have brought up for a vote, and more importantly, what they haven't since 2006.
They're ALL politicians which means they all lie and are going to appeal to voters (mostly working class people) because that's what they have to do. It's what the voters want to hear! I'm not sure why she should be any different than all the past candidates who did the same. I don't think Hillary lies any more than any of them but she catches a lot more flack than the rest of the 'good ole' boys. For some reason the men can lie and not raise as many eyebrows but women are held to a higher standard. Personally, I'm getting more disgusted with politics than usual. A man with an image of a strong leader is 'assertive' while a woman is a bitch. Get real, politics is not about being nice, she couldn't survive if she were sweet and whatever people want her to be. We're not electing someone to be our friend but someone who cares, has some experience, and hopefully, the ability to get us out of the mess in Iraq and the, dare I say it, recession?
I'm continually amazed at how much people dislike her for no apparent reason except that she is a woman who is trying to challenge for what has been, since 1776, a job held only by 1 sex. I would think many woman would see that as a good thing, given she has come further than any other female candidate, ever. Yes, I know that Obama is part black but being a woman I feel her plight more.
I will vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination and Obama if she doesn't. I don't think being a good speaker equals competency and their respective ability to do the job is ultimately unknown so the woman is going to get my vote first. It's 2008, way past time to get over the double standard for men and women already.
See Hillary Clinton is a Cold Calculating Bitch!
