I posted an article asking who the Edwards fans would vote for, since he isn't going to endorse anyone just yet. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

I agree, Rosa. My guess is that most of them will break to Sen. Obama.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also. He and Obama have captured the people who want to steer clear of Hillary. I also think he may not be endorsing either of them hoping he will have a shot at VP.

Edwards spoke to an energized crowd in St. Paul last night. I was there and quite surprised when he came right down into the crowd to shake hands and meet people.

He received a warm welcome, but perhaps it wasn't enough to convince him he could get the necessary delegates. You've got to give him credit for braving the subzero wind chill and temperature last night, even though he may already have been close to making up his mind about dropping out.

I have met him twice and, honestly, when you see him and talk to him, he comes across as VERY genuine. I can't imagine getting into a presidential race WITHOUT taking pac money if you're ego is all that is at stake.

He is sincere. And THAT is a change we need. Desperately.

I think tomorrow's two-person debate is going to take on new importance.

Sen. Clinton is just on MSNBC, indicating that she hopes that he/his issues will play a role in her Administration if she is elected.

Edwards definitely wants a shot a VP. I saw him speak at my college during the 2004 race and was very impressed with him. I am sad to see him go too, I think he is a good man, with good ideas, hopefully he will get on the ticket as VP.

Paul, I can't believe she has done that before he even publically announces. She has no shame. I do hope he ends as VP for either one of them, but I hope it's Obama. It makes me wonder if he may have already had a deal worked out with one of them.

Rosa: both candidates are talking about it - not just Sen. Clinton.

I was leaning toward Edwards for a long time, but since Iowa I've been leaning more towards Obama. Hillary has been too opportunistic-- whether it's exploiting her own tears in New Hampshire, popping by Florida as soon as the ink dries on the Primary ballot- or seeking Edwards supporters before he has officially made his announcement. I expected Edwards to hang in there until after Super Tuesday, but I think it shows class to bow out now without an endorsement -- whether or not part of the reason is because he hopes for another VP nod. It will be interesting to see how the candidates conduct themselves over the next few days.

Who spoke first Paul, Clinton or Obama? I don't have TV on. What channel are you on?

If tomorrow's debate gets down and dirty, I will be longing for Edwards, as the honorable candidate he has been, to pick up the ball. I could vote for him, but I like Obama's message of hope and unity the best of the lot.

Both Billary and Obama have been swilling at the corporate trough, raising massive amounts from the same PACs and lobbyists that brought us GW Bush, many supporting a Democrat for the first time, ever, which has allowed them to totally overshadow Edwards, who has forgone any of that type of support, and the Corporate media has helped them at every turn. You sheeple don't deserve an Edwards. You have dictated that we will again get the government we deserve. I am personally disgusted at the low intelligence of the American people when exposed to Political BS foisted on us by the corporate forces that presently coerce our government on a daily basis. It is highly questionable whether either of the remaining candidates can win in the general. Both give the Republican smear machine more than a running chance of giving us another Repugnican President. In the last poll that the media included him in, Edwards was the ONLY Democrat that could beat all Republican contenders, so we deep sixed him for them, so they wouldn't have to. Sorry, Ron and Bret, you're wrong on your polling data. Sens. Clinton and Obama both clean the Republicans' clocks - except for McCain, where the polls are split. You're citing to one poll that was questioned by many in the polling community (pollster.com).

I'm citing the last CNN poll, Paul, before they excluded him, arbitrarily. What fair news organization deletes the winner of their last poll, in their next one? You have no further need to denigrate the guy because you're a Clinton supporter, come on. Your corporate hack is winning, give it a rest.

And if you haven't figured this out, when you delete a Edwards from the mix, many have to reconsider their allegiances, and therefor they both benefited from that decision. I picture a lot of folks holding their noses when they answered those questions. I doubt if it's firm support. I personally do not believe, when the attack dogs get loose, either has a chance against Romney, either.

He's out Paul and it IS a shame . . . but with the record high turnout of young and Democratic voters . . . I still don't see an issue with an ability to win in the General. Time will tell.

Well, it would appear they don't have to, now do they? At least not in regards to Edwards. And yes, it is a broad generalization, unfortunately with a time tested record to justify it. Can you say G.W. Bush........twice?

Polling data isn't very reliable anyway. Polls don't really matter. What matters is the people who show up to vote on election day. That is the only firm proof of where someone's allegiance stands.

Right, that's why no one pays any attention to them. I notice they matter a lot less to those on the short end of them.

Ron: You're correct about that CNN December poll, tho Obama v. McCain was also tied. (Edwards was up 2, but w/i m.o.e.) But, Edwards WAS included in several head-to-head polls after that (Zogby, Rasmussen, Hotline). I don't know why CNN dropped him in the January poll, even tho they included four Republicans. But, after that, you could argue that his performances in the Dem primaries/caucuses made it irrelevant how he would do vs. the Repubs.

He's gone, and that's good. Now there's more oxygen for the real candidates. And more airtime to watch the Hill-Billy smear machine tear down Obama. I'm getting the popcorn ready............it should be interesting. I hope Obama puts up a good fight (even though I have no horse in this race).
