Every once in awhile, an idea emerges that transcends partisan politics. Tomorrow, the United States Senate will vote on my proposal, the Biden-Brownback-Boxer amendment, for a political solution in Iraq.
Virtually everyone, including General Petraeus in his testimony last week, agrees there is no purely military solution in Iraq. We need a political solution if we want to have a chance of not trading a dictator for chaos when we leave.
What are the choices?
President Bush's choice is to continue gambling the lives of our troops on a central government that has proven to have neither the will nor the ability to end the civil war in Iraq.
My choice is to provide for a regional system that gives the warring factions breathing room to end the civil war by providing local control over the things that matter in their daily lives -- police, education, jobs, etc.
If you agree with this choice, please help me get this message out.
Tomorrow, all the members of the Senate have a choice to make.
Will they choose to support the Biden-Brownback-Boxer amendment, which calls for a new direction in Iraq? Or, will they choose to continue President Bush's gamble by voting no?
On Friday, I spoke about what's at stake with this vote. I hope you will take a few minutes to watch excerpts from that speech and support my campaign.
This vote is a chance for those who wish to be America's future leader to show the country where they stand.
I know where I stand.
Will you stand with me?
Thank you,
Joe Biden

How will you negotiate with Iran if they seize the oil and now become an economic superpower with ability to extort the world by simply turning off the tap if he does not like something?
How will you look be able to tell another country we are your ally and we will support you when our track record is hightail it out when it gets tough?
How will you counter embolden terrorists after all they just defeated a superpower? What makes you think they will not go after Israel their number one price. After all if they can beat us Israel should be no problem.
Bottom line sir, I want our troops home just like you. But unless you have thought through the CONSEQUENCES of brining them home NOW and are prepared to tell the world that you are ok with Iraq falling into chaos I would encourage you to try harder and come up with a real plan.
If it is, that is so amazing that I even found this. You should post at sites that are more well known, like Dailykos.
You were so awesome on the Senate floor today. You displayed true leadership and were receiving alot of bipartisan support for your ammendment. But what happened?
Harry Reid came along - and - poof - that was it.
You need to know that there are alot of people that support you. And alot of us are busy getting your message out.
Good luck tomorrow nite. You are the best!
