The Boston Herald shares the first thing people say when they hear “John Kerry for president in 2008:”
1. Already lost/had his chance (12 percent)
2. Don’t like him (7 percent)
3. Dishonest/Don’t trust (6 percent)
4. Wishy-washy/Too indecisive (6 percent)
5. Poor choice for candidate (5 percent)
6. Poor speaker/Needs to think before speaking (5 percent)
7. Weak/No backbone (5 percent)
8. Traitor/Disloyal to military (4 percent)
9. Would make a good candidate (4 percent)
10. Not very smart (3 percent)
The responses were the result of a poll conducted by Gallup November 27-29. Gallup concludes, “a number of people don’t like, trust or respect Kerry.”
Kerry spokesperson Amy Brundage claims “these polls aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on.” Brundage may be correct, but this poll is still more evidence that Kerry is wrong when he insists his latest case of hoof and mouth disease will not undermine a possible White House campaign in 2008.

I don't think you're going to find very many people interested in the 2008 election merely weeks after the 2006 election. People get bored with it.
Out of the current list of possible candidates, I find myself looking more to the governors than the senators. That said, if the nominations were held today, I guess Hillary and McCain would be the nominees.
I'd like to see some new faces too.
