I'm sitting in front of the TV and alternatively laughing, crying and throwing shoes at the TV.
It's taxes! They just showed Bush and Chaney trying to rally the misinformed with the chant – the Democrats will raise your taxes. Of course there will be a rise in taxes after the republican controlled Congress, Senate and Executive branch have been looting the treasury. These non-conservatives are about to bankrupt our country. Of course they know that taxes will have to go up as they have created the situation. This to me is insidious!
It appears it is perfectly acceptable to give tax breaks to an oil company drilling on public land – the royalty payment was reduced from 12% to 1%. Have you any idea what the shortfall of revenue is in this scenario? Billions of dollars lost to the treasury. But if you want to expand a school lunch program or help seniors then this is a horrible waste of money. My god! What has happened to our values? Since when is any corporation more important than the American public?
We need change, we need it now. VOTE!

There are lots of "real" conservatives who haven't gone nuts. In the last two elections, they allowed themselves to be dragged along with the neocons, but this time (hopefully) they will realize that Democrats share more of their values than these jerks do.
We'll know tomorrow if they rolled over yet again.
