I'm furious! Clinton gave a "major speech" today around 11 AM. I just
happened to check MSNBC and noticed that they were announcing that he was about to do this, so I waited to see it. He was speaking at Georgetown U. a Catholic University, where he went to school, and I hadn't known that. The topic was "The Common Good," which just happens to be a major Catholic moral theme as well as the theme of the US Constitution. He began by talking a little about his days at the University and how much it had meant to him -- I went to a Catholic college with ties to Georgetown so I know exactly what he was talking about -- then spelled out what's meant by "the common good." In contrast to this is the right-wing ideology of the Bush administration, with its ideology that the problems people have are their own fault and it's up to them to take care of themselves. He went into that strange criticism of Democrats as "reality based," joked that he came from a family of alcoholics and had spent his youth trying to become "reality based" and wasn't about to give it up, which got a laugh, and began to explain that what the administration meant by saying that was that, because of their ideology, they know exactly what's wrong with the world and feel that because this country is so powerful they can use this power to change reality to fit their ideology. As he began to explain exactly what that ideology is -- MSNBC CUT HIM OFF! They switched to a couple of talking heads, one right wing spouting that ideology, and one supposedly democratic, you could still see Clinton on the screen talking but couldn't hear him, while these two argued! Damn them!
If that isn't censorship, I don't know what is. I'm going to try to get a copy of this speech.

What you are referring to only scratches the surface: My Recent 9/11 Post at Gather
Clinton often refers to fitting the policy into the ideology. I think it is brillian stuff.
