Massachusetts Democratic Senator John Kerry says he deserves a second chance if he decides to take another crack at becoming president:
The Massachusetts Democrat, who lost to President Bush in 2004, said it is a basic principle that "Americans give people a second chance. And if you learn something and prove you've learned something, maybe even more so. Now, I don't know what I'm going to do yet. We'll make that decision down the road."
I would welcome Kerry's candidacy above the other 12 potential candidates for the 2008 Democratic nomination.
Kerry's unfortunate tendency to provide priceless blogging opportunities included:
Kerry: "I Have Been Consistent All Along"
99 to 1 - Kerry's The One
Kerry's Dukakis Moment
And everyone's favorite, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it."
Just imagine the fun we could have nuancing another Kerry presidential campaign

Whenever I cheat on my partner I always ask for a second chance. But I have to agree with Clinton that oral sex doesn't really count as sex.
THe guy never fails to amuse me with his "intelligence".

Aside from this egregious offense against democracy, he should be disallowed from even running again for allowing himself, a decorated war hero, to run close enough to an AWOL chickenhawk to allow election fraud to make the final difference. There was absolutely no excuse for him allowing an inarticulate, dishonest, miserably failed, AWOL chickenhawk to even run CLOSE to him.
Why is it that republicans are so cruel with regard to people's outward appearance? Considering numerous prominant republicans that I can think of offhand, this practice of ridiculing democrats (and their children) over their personal appearance is really bizarre to me. "Compassionate conservative," "family values" party, indeed.
I agree. Of course I supported him in the last election but since he's proven he's not a fighter or a candidate of strength and integrity. Not saying he doesn't possess those things but there's no power and force behind the things he says he believes in. We need a candidate who'll leave no doubt about what he/she believes in and will get done. Not sure who that is for me yet but I know they're out there! I just need to do my homework.
"Mark Foley" wow, how original. Not.
And that says a lot, coming from a Yellow Dog Democrat.
I thought Gore said no way?
That's a nonsense, rightwing talking point. EVERY politician changes their stances on issues, particularly ones that they were misinformed about initially. You think Bush has never flip flopped? He's the king of flip flops, but that never bothered republicans when they voted for him, because somebody told them that it was KERRY who was the flip flopper, not their guy. Still, if this false rightwing talking point is what it takes to keep Kerry out of the next race, so be it.
"Democrats need someone who isn't going to say "I'm not Bush" but who is going to say, "This is what's wrong and this is my plan to fix it.""
Dean, Kerry, Edwards, Kucinich, and Sharpton all did this in the past primary campaign.
He's currently flip flopping. I wouldn't personally be overly thrilled with him either, although he probably could win out. After 8 horrific years of Bush failure, the public would likely welcome a return to the Clinton nostalgia.
Lets hope that we have better choices from both parties the next time around.
Sorry you can't take a joke. It's not Kerry's fault - it's a medical condition called Asafacia - when your "_ _ _" looks so much like your face, your bowels don't know which way to move.
Sorry you can't take a joke."
I can take a joke. I just don't happen to think that people's outward physical attributes are qualified as joke material. Some of God's greatest human gifts were born with horrific physical defects, but it doesn't hinder them from showering those around them with the grace of God, nor will it keep them from entering His kingdom. I can't speak for what might happen in the afterlife to those who mock and ridicule them for their physical appearance, however.
And since I have a secret crush on Edwards, well, I'll just have to look at him harder too. ;)
Kerry was sadly, over before he began. The attack campaigns doomed him before he was properly out of the gate. I had hoped he'd stand strong about it, debunk it and move on. I had hoped for some real opposition to Bush last time around. I hoped and hoped and hoped, but it didn't come. Kerry can't win it. Neither can Hillary. But who can?
I'm with the rest of those calling for a rock solid candidate who is "no nonsense" about what the problems are and EXACTLY what means should be applied to them.
Go Kerry/Edwards 08! lol.
Oh I get it the hjoke you brought to the table was that nonsense about the last election being stolen in Ohio.
Utter nonsense, you know, everybody knows it.
Jurt like the Florida nonsense. Every independent audit by those with their own agendas had to eat crow because every count came out with Dubya winning outright.
Democrats should join the rest of the sane Americans and then they might actually win a major election. Instead the Democrats have been hijacked by a bunch of left wing kooks who want the world to believe they are the "mainstream". Well here is a little dose of reality, you are a bunch of fringe kooks, wake up and smell the coffee.
Clark Kent, if you'll acknowledge how vicious and "no fun intended" those remarks are, I'll be happy to pony up a personal and public apology for my "horseface" observation, here or in the afterlife.
Bush lied and won. Especially about Iraq.
Consider the Bush record: Thousands of dead Americans, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, and $.5 trillion in war bucks spent, much of it given to war profiteers. This is the Bush legacy to the world. This is a true harvest of shame. Every single Democrrat who ran would have compiled a better record.
If you're still celebrating Bush's "victory", you might be greedy, a religious fanatic, deluded, or a member of the Burlington liars club. The honest Republicans I know have serious buyer's remorse. Those who are loud and proud should be in therapy.
The current neo-conservative government is unsustainable and is about to collapse from its own corruption. Kerry is old news. Russ Feingold is a much better representative of the new progressive Democrats.
Maybe I just happen to have a nephew who was born severely handicapped and with obvious physical deformities? This shit about mocking one's appearance, which republicans have been doing for YEARS now, isn't one bit funny to someone who's been close to reality. Sorry, asswad, but I happen to take it personally, for some odd reason.
"Oh I get it the hjoke you brought to the table was that nonsense about the last election being stolen in Ohio. "
Sorry, but facts is facts. Just because you don't happen to like them or agree with them, and just because the "liberal media" refused to discuss them, doesn't make them any less factual.
"Jurt like the Florida nonsense. "
We ALL know what the FL vote outcome was by now, don't we? (hint: Gore won...again).
"Democrats should join the rest of the sane Americans and then they might actually win a major election."
That's a rather odd comment, considering that Americans side with democrats on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE right at the moment. Even national security and moral values are no longer republican issues! Ooops...more of those pesky fact thingys. Sorry again.
"Clark Kent, if you'll acknowledge how vicious and "no fun intended" those remarks are, I'll be happy to pony up a personal and public apology for my "horseface" observation, here or in the afterlife. "
Save it. If you don't know better than to mock other's outward physical appearance by now, you'll never get it, and your apology is meaningless. You go on having your little fun and games at other's expense. You and your wingnut pals can yuck it up. It's fun to make fun of people over things that they can't help, such as physical characteristics.
What amazes me about republicans seeming so obsessed with making fun of other's physical appearance, is that you're the ones who're constantly trying to convince the world that you're the "moral values," "Christian" party. What part of the bible did Jesus teach his disciples that it was a good idea to behave in such a manner?
To me, it's yet another shining example of republican hypocrisy, and a further showcase of why I refuse to vote republican in any race. This is PRECISELY the type of behavior that is distinguishing the GOP brand as being completely out of touch with themselves and reality. You are all above everyone else, in your own little minds, which is why you're facing a serious battle in the upcoming election. The American public has grown sick and tired of your crass, inhumane, irresponsible behavior. Either figure that out and make appropriate changes for the future, or expect to see your party become and remain a minority party of radical extremists.
I have to revisit this whole florida thing. The county in question was/is run by Democrats. They okayed the voting forms, in an attempt to make it easier for the senior population to read the thing and vote. Somewhere along the line we get a bunch of these geezers coming out complianing about the voting method, gee that's a new one an old ladies complaining whether its warranted or not.
Major newspapers even went to Florida after the fact to do their own counts and it came out the same , Dubya won. To insist otherwise is a case of denial.
THen we move on the Ohio and Kerry decides to claim that their was voter shenanighans there. Nothing to warrant it, just an accusaitions, damn the truth, that isn't part of the equation. You see, just by saying it,makes it fact in the eyes of the left.
And you're criticising Kerry because you're a regular supermodel, correct? So Kerry isn't worthy because he you say he resembles an equine. Wow that is some argument...
Reading Racing Forum has its merits but you might want to expand your political grazing beyond Fox and Rush. The GOP's silks will be the ones covered in dust at the end of the races this November. The reason is voters are fed up with the horseshit they've been fed by the Bushies since 2000. But keep chomping and swallowing it all if you want. It has zip nutritional value.
Some people will miss the point, even if they sit on it. No comment from the "weakly readers" to the over the top comments about our President?
That's what was challenged.
