I still can not believe that California has passed prop 8. Being that we were legally married in California while we were allowed to, now we don't even know where it stands. Are they going to grandfather the 16,000 same-sex marriages in or give us all the boot? I have a feeling that they are going to stop at nothing to make us having nothing. It really is a shame that peopel still think that us gay people less than. I truly believe that someday we will have vicotry and have fully equal rights.
How would they like it if we said that they couldn't get married because they were striaght? How would that go down? How about they refund our money spend on getting the marriage license that they felt the need to take away!?
How arethey allowed to say that our love is unequal to theirs, how can they say that because we are gay and lesbians we molest little children...where do they get their information from?! How can they try to undo our "I do"..?
Prop 8 is hate, it's discrimination, it's unfair, unjust, and wrong. Prop 8 has taken away our civil rights, and has taken the LGBT community a step backwards. We want to be equal! Our love and familes are built on the same foundations.. we deserve to be equal. Prop 8 did not vote us away... we will fight!

Also, in other states they have passed laws that ban same-sex couples to foster or adopt children. They would rather let the children live in foster care than give them loving homes. So what...they have two moms or two dads. They will be loved and cared for.
These things do not matter to those people who have passed these laws. They are close minded and will never change...it's sad.

Janet -yes the people of california did speak. They voted hate into the constitution... they took rights away from a minority... they spoke out of hate and closemindedness
Fight the fight. If it is not cast down by activist judges, you have the next election.
The candle light vigils, marches, and even just signs along the road have been making me feel so much better. This ban will not last.
Next time don't bother.
Please don't feel that way because its not true. Keep fighting for what you believe in.

You know this is not true and don't let anyone tell you it is. People tend to make judgements that speak more about themselves than about the person or lifestyle they're criticizing.
I chose to be a stay at home mom and believe me, a lot of paycheck moms were very rude, critical, condescending and resentful toward me. It didn't stop them from asking me to pick up their kids, however. I honored their requests when it did not conflict with my family's needs and schedule.
Stand up for yourself or let it roll off, but refuse to let anyone tell you that you're not an equally lovable, worthy person. You know better and so do the people who love you.
I hope this is overturned because it was a change in the intention of the Constitution and as such, skipped being passed first by the legislature. I'm so happy to know that God and Jesus do not share the meanspirited attitudes of those who claim to speak for them.
So much money wasted that could have been used to feed the poor. Shame on those people.
