The Best Compliment I Ever Received!

My daugther, Elizabeth, had been dating Andy for a few months.  I realized it was getting serious.  One day Andy came to see my husband and myself to ask for Elizabeth's hand in marriage.  We throughtly liked and approved of Andy, so it was easy to say yes.  Oh course, it is always hard to loose your little girl.  Elizabeth and I lived about 45 minutes away from each other.  We often talked on the phone, sometimes for hours!  We next time e got togather, Elizabeth was very excited.  Wedding plans were definitely on her mind.  She had a lot of good ideas.  Suddenly she truned to me and said, "Mother, you are my very best friend and I want you to be my maid of honor!"  Of course I said yes!  It was a lot of fun combining the duties of the maid of honor and the mother of the bride!  Next month Andy and Elizabeth will be celebrating their five year anniversary.  I'm very glad to have Andy join the family! The picture is of my husband, Tom, myself, Elizabeth, Andy, my son Gary, also in the wedding party!  It was a day full of memories for all of us!
