This group was created in order for people who are serious about fitness and exercise to be able to have a place to receive support, information, and share tips. In my time recently of going back to the gym, I have realized how I want to sculpt my body, but have been unable to get specific information as to what would be best. With this new group, people will be able to explain and share what works for them, and be able to get support for what doesn't. In addition, I will try to keep up to date with the newest diet trends, supplements, work outs, and various other exercise news and developments.
One question I do pose is this, would the members prefer for me to post various pictures on the group for inspiration? The reason that I ask is because psychological studies have shown that if you have the constant reminder of your goal, it is better motivation. Just leave a comment and let me know. I am also considering changing the setting on the group to include adult content, in case there are any pictures that get posted. I do not want to limit any of the members in anyway. Thanks for joining and let's get started!

I just joined this group and the tone of this conversation seems a bit ridiculous to me... After all, the moderator of this group - called it Excersize and Fitness - NOT Excersize and Fitness and Sexy, Inappropriate Photographs. He only posed a simple question:
>would the members prefer for me to post various pictures on the group for inspiration?
So why in the world should this discussion even be taking place? Can anyone tell me why they would think inappropriate pix would be posted to this group? Why is anyone assuming that any pix here would be considered "Adult"? I assume the pix that Jonathan would want to post would concern the TOPIC! Just as he says...
>for inspiration
Exactly how can we talk about fitness and excersize WITHOUT posting some pix for inspiration, and for examples of showing the correct posture or position for an excersize?
Some of these responses just seem to smack of intolerance or baseless fears to me. Let's just begin talking about the subject at hand and not focus on baseless future fears.
It talkes alot of guts to spill the beans publicly on yr measurements & list a daily log of what yr eatimg. I've been there, I know. But I didn't do it in public. It helps to have something, someplace (here), someone (s), to be accountable to. I used to train every day for a sport I played semi-pro, but alas, no longer. When you young as you are J you will see changes pretty quickly if you stick to yr diet & workouts.
Digital, I am planning on coming up with a daily form of my exercises and diet for each day, just as a log to put on here. in addition, I am still having some problems on finding the best exercises for chest and ab definition. You get so many conflicting pieces of information, it is hard to sort through the mess. That is why I wanted to start this group. In order to have people who are going through it, or who are knowledgable about it, with no financial interests in it at all. I have had several personal trainers, all with different info, and yet, none of their suggestions really took for me.
I'm a back-slidden cross-trainer. I've never been terribly serious, but I've always been fit and fairly thih. I'm no nutritionist, but I have a degree in biochem and some common sense, so my diet is reasonable.
Usually.
I'd like to be a member of this group because I 'm getting back into shape (increasing muscle tone, rebuilding my rather paltry upper body strength) and I need consistent reminders that this is an active process I can't yet depend on my own inertia to keep me in the habit of working out.
I've worked a desk job for the last couple of years, and with increasing responsibility and odd hours, I'm full of excuses not to work out. My previous godd habits have petered out, and I need to take a more conscious, active role in booting them up again.
Do you think that this group is appropriate for me? I'm no couch potato, but I'm not a contenda, neitha.
Bests,
