I start my new job tomorrow

Tomorrow is the first day of my new job! I'm excited & looking forward to it~
I think I will be going on a trip early in November either to las Vegas or to Washington D.C. I might have a choice - any idea which I should do? I do not gamble, but if I go on the Vegas trip I will have to help others gamble.
In D.C. we would go to the White House, Congress,The Smithsonian, etc.

We are spending our first night in our new house tonight. We went shopping today after church & bought a new microwave, dishes, lamps, food, curtains & curtain rods. Most of the afternoon has been spent getting things orgainized & some things unpacked, cleaning, etc.

We are taking a break at the BIL business so we can use the internet. Hoping to get ours setup on Tuesday, since tomorrow is a holiday~

Well time to go & make my first meal at the new place!

Sounds like things are working out for you, that is wonderful! If I had my choices, I would like the DC trip so I could hit all those great historical places and takes LOTS of pictures to share with my gather buddies, hint hint (especially at the Smithsonian). LOL

Enjoy! It's great to hear you found a place to live and tomorrow's your first day at your new job! Quite exciting!

Trip wise, I think I'd get more out of DC than Vegas, as I don't gamble either and really don't see fun in helping others gamble.....Although some day I hope to go to Vegas in November solely for Autodesk University for a week. I've been wanting to go for several years now, but haven't been able to.

Enjoy work tomorrow! Peronally, I have off tomorrow so I hope to be getting things done around the house.

Wow, wonderful new events unfolding in your life-congrats.

Go to Washington D.C., it's great with all the museums, I would love to go back again and again as there is so much to see.

The only thing I don't like about DC is driving in the city, I opt to stay in MD and take the Metro into the city. Less stressful and confusing as the city streets are laid out like spokes of a wheel. You may be on a street then cross an intersection and find yourself on completely different numbered street. Way too anxiety riding for me!

Good luck on your new job. I would have a tough time deciding between the two cities - I love visiting them both. Even if you don't gamble, Vegas has so much other stuff to see and do.

Wow you have many blessings. I am from Vegas and there are a lot of things to do here besides gamble. Of course if they gave me the choice I would want to see DC and the Simthsonian. Best of Luck.

I'd take DC in a heartbeat! I've been there a couple times and really want to go back. It's been about 15 years or so since I've been there and haven't seen anything that you listed yet (except the Smithsonian).

That would be a tough choice! I would say DC just for all the history and things to see...but then again, Vegas has lots to see as well. But, my first thought was DC. I've always heard to go with your first thought...what was yours? :)

It's great that you're getting settled in at the new place.

D.C. would probably be the better option for you with the trips. There are a lot of great things to do there and some really good restaurants.

Sounds like they want me to go on the D.C. trip so far.
Heather, great restaurants sound wonderful - but for our business it is taking people with developmental disabilities on vacation - so we all have to go to all the meals together - still learning how it all works.
I could go for some really good restaurants!

Glad to hear everything is working out Priscilla! I have visited Las Vegas and lived for four years in the D.C. area. While there are things to go see and do in Vegas that don't involve gambling and I did have a great time there, I would still choose D.C. as my first pick! I do have fond memories of the place and there is much to do without costing an arm and a leg!

I got married in Vegas. It's okay--nothing to do but gamble. We did drive to Hoover Dam. Washington has lots of things to see. Congrats on your new job and home.

Back in 1990 I started a new job a week after Keith and I moved into a new home. I had that week free and Keith didn't, so I did most of the unpacking. By the time I started my job, I was exhausted, and my resistance must have been down. I got sick.

Second day on the job I had to go home sick!

Congrats on starting your new job.. and hope you're loving your new house! I'd love to go to Vegas..but if you don't gamble then you'd be much better off in DC.. and DC is excitingi too, with lots of stuff to see and do.. I'd be happy with either trip! Have a great time, whichever one you go on!
