along the lakeshore

we miss summer, but fall has its own rewards - apples and apple desserts, lovely colors, a brisk chill in the air, and such a different change in the lake. pull up an adirondack chair and sit for a bit...here are a few photos from along the lakeshore - see what the waves have tossed up!

Magical, Jessie! I love that there was no captioning -- we could just silently enjoy the photos and imagine the lapping sounds of the water in the background. I love fall.

I just got back from the Bahamas and I am glad to come home to Fall colors. The unceasing greenness of subtropical places is a joy but the Fall colors of the midwest are quite unbeatable.

These are beautiful. I especially loved the reflection of the trees in the water. I am waiting for autumn in Atlanta. We are still seeing the 80's and not much color yet. Oh well, we still have college football and crisp apples :-)

Jessie,

A beautiful photo essay. I loved that red leaf. We have no bright autumn colors this year, just brown and yellow. Last fall was the same. We had few reds or oranges. A bit disappointing.

Jessie... There seems to be a quiet joy in all these photos. You have brought out the best in nature in all its lakeshore forms. I particularly loved the 2nd photo, it comes off like an impressionist painting. Beautiful work.

All our leaves are green - some trees are going yellow/gold, but that's it - none of those brilliant colors you were able to get.

thank you, friends! yes, photos from this week. more reds and yellows to come. it is a gorgeous fall for us! last year it was all brown. so we are rewarded for our patience.

All it need was the Adirondeck chair you were sitting from, a great picture of it, and I would of been back home in Ulster County, near Ellenville NEW York, Catskill National Parks . . .But locally this is what floats my boat !
