Baby Blue Jay alive and well

The Baby Blue Jay - JayBee - is alive and well.

Here are some pictures that were taken today.

fileId:3096224744142881;size:inter; This is the bird cage from our wonderful neighor. My middle son cut branches and put in the cage to make the bird feel more at home.

I hope he's ok - what are you feeding him - is the nest anywhere near? There are wild bird networks in some areas - I deal with them here all the time. Great article. Salud.

Yes we will be able to release him. I have raised other little wild critters and the first thing I have to do is make sure they are safe and taken care of. The second thing that must be done is that they must be released back to the wild. If a wild animal cannot be released because of injuries then it will go to a safe haven that is licensed to keep them. This is also what I am teaching my boys.

We are feeding him soaked dry cat food and soaked dry dog food. He seems to like the cat food better. He eats about once every hour and we feed him until he doesn't ask for food.

I couldn't leave the bird near the nest because our dogs or another wild critter would have had a little bird meal.

...umm... do you go out and get crickets and seeds and chew them up and ...umm... well, spit 'em up just like the momma bird?!?!? Just kidding you, I hope your little bird grows strong enough to fly. Looks like it should be getting pretty close to flight school time!
