fall is here, and we're drinking fresh-pressed apple cider (not that clear juice junk they sell in grocery stores all year around, but the yummy mahogany brown cider, the stuff you dream of in late winter). ah, it is so good.

lillie told me that last year, we had cider after jumping in leaves, whilst sitting in the pile. so we did. we raked some oak leaves into a big pile and lillie jumped, jumped, jumped. then we burned the leaves to make room for the next.

i've been kayaking a bit in the last few days - just out front, and over a little to the canal (not so strenuous as going across the lake!). everywhere i look, i am rewarded with gorgeous scenes from a beautiful (if too early) fall. weeds floating en masse in the lake, a leaf or single feather post-drift, our neighbor's dock on land for the winter. reeds, leaves, lilypads - all changing form after summer. nature is turning, and i revel in it.

thank you!
She's almost covered up
Someone grab her by the knees
And put her in a cup
Then wash her off with water, please...
And we'll have tea with lemon squeeze
From Lillie's leafy stuff.

Your collage is so full of peace and rest and beauty. And the scent of burning leaves...
Great, as always.
