starting out - getting energy from her yogurt raisins. she is so funny. since ed takes her 'training' on his bike, she always drinks water and has added her raisins to her pre-bike routine. you can see the faint remnants of her chalk drawings from a few days ago, and my wheelchair in the corner.

sometimes she pedals SO FAST that her feet come off the pedals. what a way to slow down! our road is so small, we call it a sidewalk. it is very child-friendly. all the drivers know to go slow, and lillie knows to look both ways and also to go to the side when a car comes.

going fast, skirt billowing out behind her. a princess has to be properly dressed for bike riding, you know.

a few flowers from our neighbors' gardens. lovely colors!!

and our neighbor's dog, watching us from the window.

then it started raining, and lillie got her umbrella out for bike riding. what a hoot!

often, i am reminded by lillie to look beyond where i'd like to be, and explore the unexplored. she has taught me the joy in the small things, the exclamations of delight over the most unassuming places. her pure enthusiasm for biking, dogs, flowers (and beating mama on her wheelchair) is contagious. i feel so lucky.

i think Lillie should have a book published on her life :
the name would be "Lillie among the lillies"
i feel as if i know her and knowing her ,is definitely loving her..
"to know her is to love her" as the song goes..
thank you for sharing the precious moments, the celebration of colors!
thank you, thank you!
mariana - you're quite welcome!
I've been away (again!) but have returned to find yet another soothing interlude with that darling girl of yours. I think everyone should have a smart red dress to bicyce in!
Thank you for getting my day started with a smile ;)
