Welfare flourishes in bad economic times, and capitalism flourishes in good economic times. I seriously think some here on Gather are trying to fight high tide.
The far left will have to stop complaining about capitalism too. No fair complaining that you didn't win enough, either (that's just being greedy, which is self-satire).
All in all, it won't be any more restful for the body politic.
Everybody, not in the center, good luck with your new job descriptions.

Case in point is England, they had the dole, when they too dropped from the top of the heap.
Both over staffing, and unemployment, create a welfare situation. The only difference is where the welfare is going.
The centrist reference is only in comparison to the major parties, who have a problem shifting from endorsing capitalism (and lobbyists) to endorsing welfare.
Starting fresh with the above.
