So it seems clear that most leaders in Minnesota want transportation improved. But the agreement stalls out soon after. Should we tax? Should we borrow?
Maybe, however, the question ought to be: What should be the transportation priorities.
And that leads to this more fundamental comment - Just where do you fit into the transportation debate. Are you part of the problem, or the solution? What are your travelling habits?
Minnesota Public Radio News will bring together people on Monday, Feb. 11 to hash out that issue. We'll have experts - people who know the history of automobile transportation, researchers on transportation planning, urban planners.
But we're also going to have developers, commuters, bikers, transit enthusiasts and people worried about out-of-control spending.
What to join us? It's at 7 p.m. Monday at the UBS Forum at MPR.
Admission is free but you have to reserve space. Do it by clicking here... (or go to mpr.org and click on the EVENTS page to find the sign-up form).

I don't suppose there is a spot where I could stand nearby holding a 2 x 4 foot SAFEGE monorail banner, is there?
Didn't expect so.
I took the bus when I lived in Minneapolis. I didn't own a car for years.
But now I live in Duluth, and the bus system just doesn't cut it. It would take me over two hours to get to work. I would love to use mass transit up here, but it hasn't arrived in the Northland just yet.
