One of the highlights of the last Loop was a combination of reporting and hip-hop. We sent Twin Cities hip-hop artist Chris "Shakademic" Johnson back to the neighborhood where he grew up, North Minneapolis. His mission: to interview young black men about the situation there.
The result was "Voices from the Northside." It's not your father's public radio, that's for sure. But it's heartfelt, honest and real -- in a way no outside news report could ever be.
We'd love your feedback. Listen to Voices from the Northside, and tell us what you think (you'll need RealPlayer). What emotions does this conjure up in you? Is it too tough to follow? Can new material like this ever find a home on the public radio we all know and love?
