This morning we found a crow with a broken wing. It appears he has also been attacked. He's now in the pet carrier in our aviary. We have saved many doves and other birds. Last week, we found a baby possum and he's in a special area as well. We called the Wildlife network and will drive the crow out there later this morning.
Springtime is hatching baby birds everywhere. Many birds are protecting their nests. Here seagulls and crows are always in squabbles. Our raccoons and oppossums have had their first batch of babies. Since I can't save the world, I can at least appreciate and try to help any injured animals that come into my corner of the earth.
And...how is your day going so far? Thank you. Salud.

We need more like you. Gosh do the births happen so early in spring.
You have the rescue and save instinct and thank you for that.
I've been working on internet marketing...nothing as noble as you.
It's begin winter here and all the swallows have left for Europe already.
Salud and hug Fred.
Skye has also become active in local wildlife preservation groups, which assist creatures such as your crow. With her big heart and enormous ambition I am sure she will contribute greatly to the well being of many animals over her life. Kudos to you and her in your actions and beliefs!
As for today, I'll be here at my computer, and probably spend some time out enjoying sunshine and the garden between rains. We got an inch and a half of much needed rain yesterday, and I think there's more rain coming tomorrow. Also need to go to the discount store and pick up several raffle items for the event at Jawbone Station next weekend. Are you still passing through, Mariana? I should give you my cell phone number so you let me know if you are stopping by and we can at least see each other face to face for a few moments.
Thank you very much Juan. Salud.
I have had the privilege of assisting a wide range of creatures, and it is such a joy to see them respond, heal, and when appropriate release them back into the wild.
Earth Day is tomorrow. Let's turn Gather green!
I had a wonderful day as well - visiting the Brattleboro Food Co-op in Vermont. What an explosion of sights - vegetables, plants, flowers, cheeses, breads.....oh, now that is heaven!
Last night we celebrated a dear friend's birthday at a wonderful Greek restaurant in San Pedro (Papadakis Taverna) - her son is a waiter there...and he is also an accomplished singer. He sang an aria for the dinner guests, and then serenaded his Mom. Such fun. Have a great Sunday.
I have had another overcast, chilly day and haven't gotten much accomplished at all.
Good for you, missy!
You told me, based on liking my First Chapters entry, that I could post a link to it on your article. This is the final weekend of the competition, and any of your friends that are willing to help boost my score so that I ca go to the next round!
My weekend is going well and I'm hoping that this is the week I go to the final round so that you and others can see my Chapter 3!!!
Thanks Mariana!!!

Marty! wow - tell me more - did you take pictures. I would love to see a photo essay with your impressions. Marty - what a great idea to put sunflower seeds - I do too - the doves like them as well! Sunflowers are easy to grow and you have instant bird seed!
Thank you Miz Kathline! Salud.
it hum with your love and good sense. You give me heart and raise my spirits.
I think you may have been a jackeranda tree , your beautiful purple flowers decorating the heavens and carpeting the earth at the same time.Bless you.x
That's really special. You are a good soul.
Miz Bluey, Oh I may have been one as purple is my color and I admire the many Jackarandas that are beginning to bloom down the street - thanks so much - I am highly complimented!
Miz Stephanie, I'm surprised you don't come across more animals and birds in distress in your travels. Salud.
I too have rescued crows...one adult and two adolescents. (and catbirds, starlings, squirrels, etc) I bring all wild things to a wonderful local rehab lady and leave them with a donation to her along with my prayers. Most survive to be rerelased. My brother picked up a snowy owl that had been hit by a car some years ago. (He is a amateur ornithologist.) Oops gotta go.
or animal. I could never go hunting and kill an
animal. It would make me feel sick. I quit fishing
because I could not bear to see fish I caught, then
released, float as if dead in the water. I would
fish, if and only if, I intended to eat the fish I
caught. I would hunt only if I had no other food
source. I'm not against people hunting, if they eat
what they kill. All life deserves an angel like you.
