When the night is good to us, we can sleep all night and dream of happier times. Oh, but then there are the hours when the head and the heart don't rhyme and the winds of worry blow and blow - worse than a hurricane, rattling the windows of your body. You lay awake all night. You worry, you resent, you say the Lord's Prayer. Your mind drifts, unable to finish praying. You try to remember what someone told you. Rub your earlobes, your forearms, count sheep. You are awake and the clock says 2:22. An even number means what? Something about the angels are near you now. You go to the bathroom, sip water. You take a few deep breaths and visualize lovely purple flowers in a field. The air is so fresh. It's spring. You sleep. Are you sleeping or are you awake reading this? What is on your mind tonight on April 9th? Maybe there are answers to dance with your questions. Ask. Tell us your thoughts. Put your insomnia into verse. Thank you. Good Night. Salud.

As for you.....deep peace, I wish for you. You are feeling a burden on your heart tonight, for this community, I can tell. Whenever I am "full" of concerns, especially for others, as I pray I breathe in deeply and feel their need or pain as I inhale....then as I exhale, I visualize my prayer surrounding that person, and see them being lifted to God - whole and at peace. I will pray that you you tonight....and bless you for your caring heart.
Tell me tomorrow if it worked for you. Salud.
I have had a lot of worries lately; I even took some benadryl last night but it didn't seem to help at all. I appreciate your concerns and love the way you wrote about insomnia. Hopefully, ALL of us will sleep well tonight!
Miz Marianne - We need to heal you. First, don't eat bananas in the middle of the night, you could smother. What you need is blackstrap molasses because your blood is weak and you need potassium, calcium and magnesium. What's wrong with you anyway? We want you well and healthy.
William M. you have a big job here at Gather keeping the troops entertained and I'm sure when you dream of a Gather screen filled with comments! I know sometimes I do. In fact, all my best inspired book titles have to pass right in front of my third eye.
Charles, you're a well-balanced person and right where you should be - see how nice that is. My mama used to listen to Delilah and then go to sleep around one in the morning and sleep all night. I'd be up half the night - she'd say, Fan yourself - she always had an Ibenico - fan next to her - that's a handfan, I just don't know how to spell it in Spanish. So, I'd do that and sleep like a dog in the crochet hats she made me. (I always sleep with my hats on) lol
Amanda, I love how you write and hope your boyfriend quits resenting that because you are a born writer.
Ok kids, I'm off to check on other article but will finish my thank you's in a bit. Salud.
The leaves make sounds
that soothed my ears,
till the tilt and tumble
of my mind grew slight.
The cat walked gently through the night
without rippling the darkness.
Evening delight.
Goodnight, sweet dreams Mariana.x

Poem by Bluey B. Bluey, I love this and will read it again tonight before I go to sleep - I thank you so much for a lovely comment! and Poem! Salud.
Nicotine withdrawal is decidedly unpleasant.
Sometimes being blonde is painful, hohoho, well at least to those around me.
I love your article. I usually go over the positive events of of the day and leave anything negative behind.
I try to begin and end each day saying 'Life is good.'
It helps!
Miz Tonia, you have to fill that void with something as there is a void - smoking is more than just puffing and filling your lungs - it's a whole atmosphere - a whole character - you're losing it - now you have a void but oh ain't it great to have room in your life for something amazing! Enjoy that space now and breathe in fresh air! I am doing good - had the "every five year" physical - am in great shape - b.p. slightly elevated but I don't take meds - I have a great doctor who doesn't push me - the hub said she probably learned more from my advice than she did in all 8 years of med school...hahaha...Thanks for asking. I have to cut back to 2 glasses - advice to myself because I want to lose 10 pounds and the b.p. will go down! All is well, I will be glad to get my camera back - it's in the shop - as you can see there's a blur in all the pictures and then the settings all went off - I'm having it fixed then someday hopefully can get another one as I have a big project this summer...
Miz Tomi - oh hon - I'm a blonde trapped in a brunette body so don't feel badly - at least folks don't expect you to be smart. lol.
Thanks for coming for a visit - I think I'll make some Sleepytime tea which by the way folks is made of camomile flowers and does the trick zzzzzzz. Salud.
Spring just fled, it has gotten cold again so we shut our windows and the furnace supplies us with heated dusty air.
