Tonight we're having Ramen - you know good old Ramen, Oriental flavor, noodle soup. I like it with broccoli and mushrooms. Some folks break an egg in the noodles while they boil. Many folks exist on this wonderful cheap meal which costs about five packs for a dollar. I normally eat pretty healthy but every now and then after an exhausting day, Ramen noodles hits the spot. How about you? Do you eat Ramen Noodles? How do you fix them? Thank you. Salud.

We have done camping trips in the past in the Sequoia National Forest, but it's too hard to get the commercial permits we need from the forest service, so we haven't done that in three or four years. A big portion of the tours are out of the Mammoth area - so we rent a condo in Mammoth which is the same as Motel 6 costwise up there, and we can cook our own ramen noodles if we want to instead of go out to eat. Our clients have the choice to camp, condo, or motel it when we are up there. The one's out of Lone Pine we stay at the Mt. Whitney or the Best Western, and our clients can do the same or camp as they choose.
I like the Ckicken noodle in a cup with picante sauce, crumbled bet-R-cheddar crackers and the cheese that comes in a can squirted on top and then mixed in! Sounds disgusting I know! But I promise it's REALLY good!!!!
We use Ramen noodles with shrimp as a lenten staple. I take them to work and my beloved wife will sometimes also have them for lunch. Occasionally, if we're feeling really lazy, they will become our evening meal. However, my mother-in-law usually cooks on weeknights, and so we eat well, and healthy as well.
Felicidad!
Miz Susan Marie - I"m learning quite a few things myself. We actually put seaweed in ours - and yes, the dogs like them as well...the dogs eat anything! I think if you ask a kid what their favorite food is, they'll say Ramen! I think they're great survival foods to keep on hand. Thanks for dropping by Miz Susan Marie! Salud.
fun article, honey, as always...
Do I eat Ramen Noodles? - Oh baby do I ever.
I read a few comments above and you guys are eating it all the wrong way. I have a receipt that I PATENTED (cost me $3,000) but worth every penny.
Now, you have to have an open mind when you try my receipt. Like I said, you haven't lived until you try it.
Go get yourself some Ramen Noodles (This part is not in the receipt)
Open the package and pour it into a big bowl. Look at the noodles and say to it - "You are about to experience the ultimate make-over" If you look closely the noodles will form a smile.
Next, add the following ingredients (it won't taste the same if you leave any one out)
- Get the best tasting bottled water you can find and then drink it (you'll be thirsty)
- Get yourself a new apron (might as well look the part of chef)
- Get yourself a new set of knifes (just to say you have a new set of knifes if someone asks)
- Wash your hands really good (Don't ask me why - people are always saying wash your hands when you cook)
- Turn on some music to get you in the "mood" - not that kinda of mood - what's the matter with you?
- Add some Vinegar (hey... don't bash it until you try it)
- Add some olive oil (not the virgin oil, the WHORE oil)
- Add some ketchup (to give it color)
- Add some Mustard (Ketchup always goes with Mustard)
- Add some Relish (if your gonna add Ketchup and mustard, add relish too)
- Add some Garlic (if your gonna be talking to someone you don't like that day)
- Add some Rosemary (I like the name - it sounds romantic)
- Add some Time (believe me, your gonna need a lot of time to make this)
- Add some Lemons (this gives it a little power factor)
- Add some Eggs (not just an ordinary egg - I'm talking an OSTRISH EGG)
- Add some Egg shells (gives it a little more crunch)
- Add some worms - the kind you find in your garden (you won't even taste them)
- Add some Yellow Tail Wine - one for the soup, one for you (ain't that right Salud?)
- Add some Beer (just in case you don't like wine)
- Add some Flies (your bound to find some - they go well with the worms)
- Add some (just a few drops) of Pony piss (to add flavour)
Now go back to your bowl of noodles which still should be smiling at you, pour the boiling bottle water (if you haven't drank it all)
Get all your ingredients and pour them into the bowl and stir the noodles for a few minutes until the noodles are cooked to your liking. (or is it spelt likeing?)
RING A BELL and watch the herd (family) come running. Its the best tasting Ramen Soup you'll ever have.
You all try it and let me know what you think.
keep laughing
The Funny Guy
Thanks for starting this thread.
Ramen the soup of the gods!
I like to add the egg too along with Japanese dried seaweed. It comes in sheets that you can cut up with scissors and then throw in the pot. One packgae of seaweed lasts a long time and even comes with its own moisture absorbing pack.
Broccoli is good too but I suggest steaming it alone and adding it to the Ramen just before serving to avoid a funky "green" taste and coloring.
Cheers,
Colonel Possum
