As always the beach is filled with good energy. Dogs, people, flowers, cliffs and surprises.

These ice plant blooms are typical around the beach area. They actually grow in the sand.

Statis grows wild along with the ice plants.

Here I am at my favorite rock. I wanted you to see how the whole thing looks without me sitting in it!

We walk along the beach and look up to these lovely cliffs and trees. I am always captivated.

Blooms are everywhere amongst the cliff rocks.

Suddenly, we chanced upon a wrecked boat. The entire boat was submerged. I believe the Santa Ana winds blew a bit too hard.

Wreakage was strewn for about three hundred yards down the beach.

It's as if we were in a dream. Here was part of an abalone fishing boat, perhaps a Radon. It looked a bit like one. It was a commercial diving boat. Radons are a speciality boats made in Santa Barbara.

I do not know the details but I'm sure I'll find out in the next few days. Perhaps the wind took it but it was in pretty bad shape.

As I walked along the rocks, there were pieces of the boat everywhere.

The tide came up and we began to walk back down the beach and again past the wreakage.

It will probably become part of the beach and we'll find parts and pieces of it for years. Salud.

This was a fun article to read, almost like a cool narrative movie. I hope you post an article when you find out more. It appears this boat lost both steerage and propulsion near the rocky shore, a sure combination for disaster!
Happy walking!
Cheers,

Am trying to finally upload some pictures but don't know how to get them the right size. Very frustrating.
I haven't talked to you in a while. You've presented a beautiful photo-essay. Thank you for sharing your world.
Miz elizabeth: I was unaware that you had a son on here. I'll have to check him out! I'm thrilled for you as I can only imagine how much fun you'll have doing this. My camera is about to crap out on me - it's getting harder and harder to take pictures with it - over-used. I'm in the market for a new one someday soon - maybe for my b-day in May!
Thanks for dropping by Gareth.
Robb, I'm sorry I haven't been by to see you either...More later folks - thanks all.
Think in color or black and white...I think in black and white when I photograph buildings and people...color for most nature shots except where broadleaf plants or textures are concerned. Ok enough lessons! Have a great day everyone ! Salud.
Yup - now that I saw the second beach essay - I am definitely going to the beach next week - I can use a bit of solitude and who knows it might make for a fun article - although how anyone could top a boat wreckage is beyond me:)
