ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - Police have charged three 17-year-old
students after an incident involving marijuana and yellow, smiley-faced gumballs. Federal drug agents aren't too happy about the drug-laced gumballs that were found at Howard High School in Ellicott City. The students were charged after a teacher alerted a school resource officer.
She said she saw a student give a plastic bag to another student that the teacher thought contained drugs. Officers seized the bag and found two "candy balls" wrapped in foil, with instructions to chew for 30 minutes to 1 hour before they wanted to be high. The directions also told users to "chew for as long as possible, then swallow."
