Good Morning, Gather!
Good morning, Gather! It's now five am in North Alabama. Well, I'm sure in all of Alabama for that matter unless someone changed the rules on me during the last week. That very well could have happened and I would have been none the wiser since I've been on the couch sick. It started out with depression over those last articles about my ex then turned into a stomach flu. Boy have I had fun.
I have missed all you guys all gals. Normally I would try to catch up on all the articles I have let slipped by me. I'm afraid this time, I'm so far behind, I'm going to have to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. I apologize to everyone for not being able to read your great post.
Being sick has went straight to the ole brain. I have the worst case of writers blocks now. So I thought I would bore you with my week of sickness.
On day one I slept until about noon. Woke up and ate half the frig and went back to sleep until my mom called at five pm. Sauntered across the yard because she had fixed some sour kraut and weenies, black eyed peas, cornbread, and creamed potatoes. Had seconds. Came back home and fell onto the couch and slept until eleven when my daughter tried to sneak in. Yelled at her for being late and ate two packages of ramen noodles because they're easy to fix. Fell back to sleep in my clothes.
This went on for about two more days when I began to smell something. It was me. I drug myself to the shower and put on some fresh pajama's when I started feeling sick at my stomach. I'll spare you the details of my stomach flu but it lasted a good two days. I think my stomach was rebelling from eating too much.
I tried a few times to log on to gather but was just to exhausted. How can you be exhausted you may ask when you don't do anything? Believe me it can happen.
Yesterday was my oldest child's birthday. He is twenty years old. I was nineteen when I had him. Just a baby myself. He's not big on parting with the family so we shared a cake and sang off tune to him. He thanked us, gobbled down two pieces of cake, and darted out the door to drink beer with his friends. I had been too sick to make it to the store to buy him a card so I made him one on the computer and put some money in it. The money was all he cared about anyway. You know kids. I'm sure he needed it to by beer with.
Today I think I'll try to write a story for Ed's flash fiction group. I've been working on it and found that it's hard as crap. I definitely need to post a story to Carolyn's Born Again Virgins group too. I have an idea for it but can't mention it here. Haha.
One good thing about being sick. One pack of cigarettes lasted me for THREE days. I've already smoked four cigarettes while writing this. It's a mental thing. I know it has to be.
Well, I'm running out of uninteresting things to say. Haven't had the chance to go out people watching. Caught a great commercial on television, though, where this guy says his cell phone has security. He then tells this other guy to try to take his wallet then he throws his cell phone, pinging the guy in the center of the forehead. It's hilarious! Has anyone seen this commercial? It was the best laugh I had had in days when I saw it.
I hope you gatherholics have a great day! I forget which day this is. I think it's Thursday. Right?

You keep recovering and working on your ideas honeypants. you know we are waiting happily to hear from you. Thursday for sure. I know this because it's nearly Friday here. ;)
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'll bet all that gorging before hand was your body packing up the nutrients for the purging it knew was coming.
Yup, it's Thursday. And I think when it was five a.m. in ol' Alee-bama it was five a.m. here in O-hi-o. I've seen that commercial you mentioned. It is too funny. Hope it's sunny where you are. Gray and rainy here this a.m.
Carolyn, so happy to hear from you this morning. Love the icon. I thought about putting in some of the gross stuff but changed my mind. Just in case some people had not had their breakfast. Thanks for commenting. I'm working on a story for BAV.
Bill, so nice to hear from you. Thanks for reading. I love that commerial. I'm glad you saw it too. The sun is shining here in Alabama this morning. It's been hotter than ever here lately.
Stephen, thanks! It feels good to be back on Gather. I've got a big smile on my face as I type this. Love seeing your face this a.m.!!
Maureen, thanks for stopping in. And, yes mam! I'm smoking my last one. I'm really going to make an effort to start quitting now.
I hope you're feeling better. Don't push too hard, or you'll end up back in bed.
Faith, I knew you were talking about me. My ears were ringing. Haha.
welcome back...and take care of yourself!
Carolyn is full of herself today. (We love her that way) and I thank ya for saving the gross details of chunks and such LOL!
Take it a day at a time. I am so glad you are feeling better!
Now you can read my poem! Just kidding..... :)
Glad you are back online.
Anita, I usually wake up on the cheerful side if it's in the cards for the day.
