Last week DH and I took a trip up North to visit family and see some of the beautiful colors of Fall. I stayed in Philadelphia and DH went to Hawk Mountain in Lenhartsville, PA which is an annual trip he takes with his sister and her husband. The weather wasn't very nice, it was overcast and raining, but he was able to get a few photos. It was the peak week for seeing the beautiful colors and they were able to see a few birds of prey, but he didn't get any photos of the birds.
Here are some photos of Hawk Mountain, it is a wonderful place to go hiking and if the sun had of been out these photos would be spectacular with all the Fall colors.

While walking through the woods there are a few outlook points to stop and see some beautiful scenery.

This isn't water running though the trees, these are rocks! Probably left from the Ice Age.

After quite a long hike you come to these steps to get to the look out point for viewing the different birds of prey.

You also take in some more beautiful views of the mountains.

On the way out of the sanctuary you pass a little farm that sells pumpkins and homemade food.

You can see why I no longer take this trip. I'd never make this strenuous hike with all the rocks, steps and mountain terrain. I do miss it.

My husband used to go to Hawk Mountain every summer for Boy Scouts!
