Margaritas at Sunset - Tampa Bay Florida - Beach Photos

It was a picture perfect sunset at the beach at Reddington beach in Florida.

We felt lucky to live so close to a vacation paradise.

The Jimmy Buffet music and the margaritas we had at the restaurant earlier eased us into a relaxed "It's five o'clock somewhere" mood:)

So grab yourself something cold and

enjoy the photo tour of

our sunset walk on the beach!

The beach had that dreamy

magic hour

before sunset feeling.

The noisy shorebirds cackled away - unimpressed.

Where I come from we call this time between dusk and sunset

"die blaue Stunde" - the blue hour.

The grown shorebirds are black and white with a bright orange beak.

This is a juvenile shorebird.

The sky changed with every step

and with

every picture I took.

FIRE IN THE SKY

Well, you know I loved it. You are lucky, although I know the heat would get to me. I just love the water, the shells, the birds...the sound of the waves.

Actually, it was fine that day - we've had a lot of rain and it makes bearable along with the breezes that we've had from those tropical storms.

Thanks, Bob - it was a photographer's dream - one of the fiery sunsets. It seems sometimes the narrative is the hardest part:)

Thanks, Nana - I was beginning to worry we would get to the beach too late, but it turned out to be one of those really pretty, colorful sunsets, I was delighted.

Marianne, those shore birds are strange looking critters, like their beak is too big for their body:)
These were the same shore birds we had seen nesting a couple of months ago, so they had plenty of juveniles in there. Glad I got to shoot at least one juvi, it was nearly dark by that time and I used the flash, not at all certain how that would turn out.

Pssst, Phil - actually we had Mojitos, but I figured Margaritas (which are one of my favorite cocktails) would make a better title:) I love a walk on the beach, but that evening, I was whipped by the time we left, we took a long walk

I've never been to Reddington Beach... but I have a few sunset shots from Bradenton and Sanibel, which I pull up when I need a fix.

As if the photos weren't enough, you had to add the words and the headline! Rose, these articles are so great that they're enough to push someone who is in the middle of nowhere over the edge. I think I'm moving to the middle of an island!
