The boys and I got to the beach a little after 8 a.m. this morning, and the broadwalk was already buzzing by runners, rollerbladers and bicyclists.

The beach workers were working hard on cleaning up the beach after a rough night. Of course the boys loved to watch the tractor, as it was leveling the sand.

The beach was relatively empty when we arrived , but that is the way we like it.

There were a few people in the water already, but the boys and I thought it was a bit too rough, so we found a nice spot in the sand.

The beach police was up early.

The runners and walkers were also getting their morning exercise.

This guy was picking up things from the ocean, but I'm not sure what it was.

Just before 9 a.m. the life guards began to arrive at the guard houses.

They quickly put the red flag up, as the water was very rough today.

We were not the only ones soaking up the salty breeze, and in fact the beach became very busy by the time we were ready to go home.

Great pictures :)
I can't wait till summer hits here in Chicago, our beaches are nowhere near as beautiful, but they certainly are busy.
I love the last one.
Great photos, as always, j!
