Hello Everyone,
Greetings from the Gather Travel Guru! I invite you to join me on an adventure as I make my way around the country for the next 30 days. I'll keep you updated on my travels, hinting at destinations I'm going to throughout the U.S. If you can guess where I am, you could win Gather Points and the chance to receive a $100 AMEX gift card towards your own travels.
Here's how it works: Throughout the week, I'll create five posts that give you clues as to where I am. I travel fairly quickly, so be sure to connect to me to keep up! For each post, I'll choose one Gather member who correctly guesses where I am that day to receive 100 Gather Points. But throughout my travels, everyone who submits a correct answer will be placed into a drawing to receive $100 AMEX gift card at the end of my trip.
Today's travel destination: To kick off my adventure, I'm leaving the Gather Boston office and am heading to the city's oldest restaurant. It's also the oldest restaurant in the States that has provided continuous service. Do you know where I am? Leave your response in the comment field below! If you've ever been there, tell us about it as well.
Guesses for this day are closed.
Find out where I am on Day 2!>>

Union Oyster House
Ye Olde Union Oyster House
America's oldest restaurant in continuous service, the Union Oyster House opened in 1826
I'll put my answer in too... the Union Oyster House, although now it looks like I'm just copying everyone, ha.
Maybe you guys should have people email the answer in instead of adding it as a comment?
This is a fun promotion though! Yay.
It's a wonderful hot spot. The glass in the window looks like the bottom of coke bottles. Even in the summer you can sit up in the little alcoves and almost feel what it might have felt like to be inside where there was warmth and shelter, food and ale, while a Noreaster rattled the shingles in the dead of winter.
~~because Google says so - a famous raw bar, and JFK used to sit in Booth 18 and read the paper there~~
Since I am allergic to shellfish, I couldn't have a meal there, aw. ={
This sounds like a really fun promotion!

The Union Oyster House
Never been. ...but I kinda like the music, say the ladies are insane there...
I would love to visit. I haven't been to Boston or indeed the entire eastern side of the country and would love to go. Bill and I are planning a trip in the next couple of years to see the eastern seaboard.
Love this new promo.
Congrats to senoritafish
The web site shows they do a lot of good humanitarian things (humanitarian expeditions, donating wheelchairs, supplies, water tanks, emergency assistance to remote island villages). Cool example of how you can go on a great luxury-adventure vacation and at the same time really make a difference to a developing country like Fiji.
