We went on a nature walk and explord birds, trees, and live plants. We kayaked Smithville Lake, canoed the Rancocas Creek, climbed the rock wall, bounced on the inflatable, got our faces painted, saw puppet shows and listened to the storyteller.
We got to participate in many types of activities, demonstrations, and workshops throughout the day and discoverd ways to protect and enjoy the environment.
What do you get when you combine an aluminum pie plate, an egg carton and some paper-towel rolls?
If you're 2-year old Drea, the answer was a robot. ( I can't show you photos of her robot because she destroyed it before grandpop got back with our drinks, but she had fun!)
My grandaughter Drea let her imagination run wild yesterday along with other visitors were all could make sculptures out of items that might otherwise be headed for our landfill.
My grandaughter made several other presents for her Daddy for Father's Day, that miraculkously survived.
She made sand creations, and a photo frame, but her all time favorite was getting a bucket & shovel, filling it with compost & then getting a plant to give to her daddy. She demanded and got two. She politely told the man giving them away that her Dadyy deserved two. LOL

The fair also featured alternative-fuel cars, some of which were champions at last year's Tour de Sol, a "green" car race organized by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association.
This year's fair was sponsored by the Burlington County Board of Freeholders, and held at Smithville Park yesterday which is within walking distance of my home. (Yeah, we did not have to spend our gas money!! ) This fair gives families an opportunity to have an afternoon of fun while learning lessons about the environment.
