The River Walk project started in the mid-90s in an attempt to regenerate an area that had fallen into disrepair. Volunteers worked hard at both fundraising and at that would become a gem in the Village.
It has become a beautiful green area that is one more attraction to draw people to the area.
In 1998 Saranac Lake became an All-America City, in part due to the volunteerism that brought the River Walk to life.
