A Little Shameless Plug for My State

I know it's very short notice, but CBS Early Morning show will be broadcasting live from Mt. Rushmore on Thursday morning! If you have never visitied the monument, or it's been awhile since you have, tune it in. It's a fantastic, breathtaking view, and as often as I've seen it it has the same awe inspiring effect every time. The Black Hills of SD are beautiful and a great place to vacation. It's on the opposite side of the state from me, (about 6 to 7 hr. drive) so when I go it's a vacation for me also. The show starts at 7a.m. central time or, as they say.."check your local listings!"

Ohhhhh,I've been there,and love it..Also saw Crazy Horse's statue,and brought some rocks from the mountain !!

I took lots of pictures,but lost the film somewhere along the way..I think I left them in our motel room.

Thanks for the heads up! I've been there and I agree that it's awesome. Your state is truly beautiful. The drive up to Mt. Rushmore is beautiful enough and then you get there and seeing the sculptures is really a bonus! By the way - there you are! You changed your icon back to a picture of you all growed up LOL

The Dakota's are 2 of the 10 states I haven't been to yet. God willing I'll make it soon. When I get there I'll be sure to stay for the lights. Thanks.

I know a couple of Lakotas from south dakota. I also have a friend who is at the Rez now. I have never been to the Dakotas. Someday I want to come across country.

Have you read "Dakota: A Spiritual Geography" by Kathleen Norris? I highly recommend it!

I missed the show, but I've been to Mt. Rushmore and it's a breath taking sight. I can't wait till I visit South Dakota again. It's a beautiful state!
