Hawaiian Cruise

I would have to say my most memorable vacation adventure was with my boyfriend of almost a year.  I have always wanted to go to Hawaii but wanted to save it for a time when I had someone special in my life to enjoy all of the romance Hawaii might offer.  John & I chose a 7 night Hawaiian cruise as a way to visit Hawaii in April 2007.  This was my first time to Hawaii and John's first cruise so it was nice for us to share a first together.

The next day, we arrived in Nawiliwili on Kauai island around 8am.  We participated in the "Jungle Mountain Trek" excursion which included visiting a 4000 acre working cattle ranch, hiking, a short zipline, and swimming at the bottom of a waterfall.

Leaving Kauai, we were able to view the Na Pali coast.  It was overcast the day we sailed by but it was still beautiful.

Our next stop was at Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii.  There we did a tour of the Volcanoes National Park.  We also walked through the Thurston lava tube which was like a cave formed from lava.

Maui was my favorite port stop.  We rented a car and drove to Iao Valley.  It was so beautiful and peaceful there.

We woke up at 2:30am to participate in the sunrise and bike ride down Haleakala Volcano.  The sunrise was absolutely incredible but it was very cold and windy at the top!  The ride down was great fun though!
