October is great in the Poconos

Well, we finally got a nice sunny weekend in the Pocono Mountains. It has rained every weekend for over a month. We didn't want rain this weekend because it was the Arts and Crafts show, Antique car show and we got to ride the chair lift at the ski lodge. What a great way to see the beautiful fall colors. We took 173 pictures this weekend. I'm sharing some and I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

The news says this isn't the peak yet but I can't imagine it getting any more spectacular. It is amazing how much it changes in one week. This coming weekend we will be going to Big Boulder to ride the ski lift and take more pictures.

The temperatures for this weekend are supposed to be cold. Twenty nine degrees at night and not much out of the fifties for the daytime. We'll have to stock up on wood for the fireplace. Missy loves to lay in front of the fire. Her fur gets so hot, I don't know how she can stand it for so long.

Very nice. I'm going up to Pikes County Pa in the next couple of days...waterfall safari! Glad to hear that the foliage is as colorful as this. Its hardly changed here in central Jersey.

Janet, it would be a great weekender for you. I'll be sending winter photos probably sooner than we think! It's going below freezing this weekend.

I need to do fall in the Poconos sometime. Lovely color. All of our local big leaf maples turn a uniform yellow tipped with orange. It's not nearly as fun. Nice article.
